Last night, Thursday, September 20, legendary Broadway director and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince served as Master of Ceremonies for the the fourth-annual "Broadway Salutes," an industry-wide celebration to honor those who make Broadway great. The event was presented by The Broadway League and Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) and was once again held in the Times Square Visitors Center (7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets). Once On This Island just opened last night, June 3, and runs through Sunday, June 24, 2012.

The 2012 Drama Critics Circle aAards were presented at a cocktail reception last night, May 14, at Angus McIndoe Restaurant. Sons of the Prophet, written by Stephen Karam, won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2011-2012 season. The production features the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), direction by the acclaimed Scottish director of Black Watch, John Tiffany, movement by Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, American Idiot) and musical direction by Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!).
