Today in Times Square, famed Q104 classic rock radio host Jim Kerr climbed out onto the marquee of Hard Rock Cafe to announce that the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical ROCK OF AGES will return to the New York stage this summer in a special 10th Anniversary Production at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). To mark the announcement, and the milestone anniversary, he was joined by alumni from throughout the musical's Broadway run, who performed 'Don't Stop Believin' live above Times Square. The return production of the musical - produced by Michael Cohl/S2BN Entertainment in association with Barry Habib, Scott Prisand/Seth Fass, Tony Smith, and Randi Zuckerberg/Mara Burros-Sandler - begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, for a 16-week limited engagement through Sunday, September 29, 2019. Daryl Roth presents the world premiere of Accidentally Brave, written by and starring Maddie Corman(Appropriate, Next Fall), which opened Off-Broadway last night, March 25, 2019 at DR2 Theatre in Union Square.  The play is directed by Tony Award Nominee Kristin Hanggi (Rock of Ages, bare). Previews began on Monday, March 11 for the production's limited engagement through Sunday, July 14. at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th St, NYC). 

BEETLEJUICE, the new Broadway musical comedy presented by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures (Mark Kaufman) and Langley Park Productions (Kevin McCormick) will open on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) on Thursday, April 25, 2019. BroadwayWorld has a first look at The 5th Avenue Theatre's new production of Rock of Ages. Rock of Ages is the '80s rock ballad blast that features the music of Styx, Joan Jett, Twisted Sister, and more. With Mickey Thomas as lead vocalist, Starship produced hits including 'We Built This City' (which appears in the production), 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now,' and 'Sara.'

February 3 was the 60th Anniversary of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story celebrated the anniversary at the show and BroadwayWorld was there. Check out the photos below!
