Zolita has unveiled the official video for her Queer country anthem “Small Town Scandal,” appearing on her forthcoming album Queen of Hearts due May 31 via AWAL. Building off the storyline from her previously released video for “Bloodstream,” the video features Zolita as well as Love Island fan favorite Kyra Green running away together as they find refuge in a sea of line dancers. As a filmmaker, each track begins as an elaborate movie in Zolita’s mind, boldly rooted in both riveting drama and raw emotion. Watch the video here!

I initially started working on this show, and now I am the biggest Dylan fan. He's so ubiquitous. He's out there in the culture. So, of course, I knew Dylan and Dylan's songs, but this has made me a huge fan of his.

We see them in minor parts and in the background on stage, and they're always first at the curtain call. But what's life really like in the ensemble of a mega-musical?

We begin with Kaelan Trough (Doherty) gleefully repeating the word “Love,' grinning as he wanders around the stage. Kaelan and his partner, Jeremy, are having a gender reveal party for their baby. There is a black balloon hanging from the ceiling. Once popped, if the baby is a boy, blue rose petals will fall. If it’s a girl? Cooked shrimp.
Following the release of “Pages” and “On The Run,” acclaimed Scottish singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Nina Nesbitt returns with “Mansion,” a spectral, gossamer track that pleads with a close friend to see the beauty within themselves. More like one elongated impromptu jam session than a typical musical, Musical Theatre West's new production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET doesn't involve a complex storyline, but instead focuses on imagining what it must have been like to be in the room where music history happened. The resulting concert-like jukebox musical is a rollicking good time.
The last blog I wrote about my major, I was pretty confident. I had decided to stop pursuing a major in technical theater, something I found unfulfilling, in favor of multimedia. I felt excited about the new creative opportunities. And yet I still had a lingering feeling of uncertainty.
I am unsure if I know of any other music diva who needs three different actresses to play her, but Cher seems to have required that. We have not one, not two, but three Chers in this show. And do they trot on, do their part of life, and leave? Heck no! They all talk to each other, advise each other, and sing together all night long. It’s like the three musketCHERs or something!

In this column, I write about the development of one of this spring’s jukebox musicals, The Heart of Rock and Roll. My old friend, Gordon Greenberg (represented off-Broadway earlier this season with Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors), is directing it, and I recently chatted with him about his decade-long involvement with the show.

This month, I had the pleasure of attending Amber’s concert tour stop in Vancouver, BC and chatting with Amber on behalf of BroadwayWorld. Reflecting on both her recent “No More Sad Songs” tour as well as her career past and present, it was clear that her journey as an artist was about more than just her music.
