The winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, WAR HORSE will embark on a national tour in June 2012, bringing the hit play to 30 U.S. cities during the 2012-2013 season. WAR HORSE has been seen by almost 2 million people worldwide and is currently playing at New York's Lincoln Center Theater, in London's West End, and at Toronto�s Princess of Wales Theatre. Future productions of WAR HORSE are planned for Australia, Berlin and South Africa, as well as a UK Tour.
The tour of WAR HORSE, based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford, will be directed by Bijan Sheibani based on the original Tony� Award-winning direction by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, and presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company. At the heart of the show are life-sized puppets which bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.
Michael Morpurgo�s novel, War Horse, is also the inspiration for Steven Spielberg�s feature film of the same name, which was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Tony Award-nominee Annaleigh Ashford and star of Book Of Mormon and War Horse, Matt Doyle will headline "Chasing The Day" a new song cycle by songwriter and Kinky Boots Associate Music Director Will Van Dyke. They will also be joined by If/Then star Tamika Sonja Lawrence and Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal) at 54 Below on Monday, November 17, 2014. The four actors will play two shows on November 17th (7:00 PM & 9:30 PM), with direction by Kerry Whigham and musical direction by Dominick Amendum. Originally released as an album on Sh-K-Boom Records in October 2010, Van Dyke's Chasing the Day has been reimagined as a song cycle about breaking up, breaking down, and breaking through, and will soon be available for theatrical licensing. Joey, the equine Star of the National Theatre's Production of War Horse, based on Michael Morpurgo's book, was one of the main attractions at Hyde Park at Saturday's BBC's Proms in the Park, hosted by Sir Terry Wogan. He made several appearances in the crowd during the evening, amongst the 40,000 strong crowd and on stage during the finale which included rousing choruses of 'Jerusalem' and the National Anthem. The producers of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy You Can't Take It With You announce a student rush policy. A limited number of student rush tickets, which are subject to availability, can be purchased with a valid student ID at the box office of The Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) when the box office opens for the day of the performance on a first come first served basis. The box office of opens at 10am Monday through Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. Student rush tickets are $30 each (includes facilities fee) and are limited to one (1) ticket per valid student ID.
