Thanks to enthusiastic critical and audience response, Custom Made Theatre Company is extending the run of Edward Albee's Pulitzer Prize-winning Three Tall Women through December 14. It is one of Albee's most personal plays; he continues to explore themes of mortality, the elasticity of personality, and the ways we deceive ourselves through the character of a 92-year old woman on the verge of death, engaging with two younger selves - a knowing 56-year old and a contemptuous 26-year old. Three Tall Women challenges audiences, asking us to be as honest, fierce and unblinking as Mr. Albee in looking at how we live, and how we die. (more...)

As a personal aside, following the conclusion of the interview proper the conversation between Ms. Stritch and I continued for several more minutes and she emphatically relayed to me that this had been her favorite interview to date and that she was incredibly appreciative and pleased with being questioned about the topics chosen herein. TOO MUCH SUN - the newest play by Nicky Silver - will be given its world-premiere production this spring at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) starring the Tony Award-winning actress Linda Lavin, joined by the newly-announced cast: Ken Barnett, Richard Bekins, Matt Dellapina, Matt Dickson and Jennifer Westfeldt, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, The Vineyard's Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director.
