New Adventures are delighted to announce the principal cast schedule for the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning dance thriller 'THE CAR MAN' for the final two weeks of its limited summer season at Sadler's Wells. 'THE CAR MAN' will run at Sadler's Wells from Tuesday 14 July to Sunday 9 August 2015. Academy Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated comedian STEVEN WRIGHT to perform live at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) on Saturday, June 23, at 8:30 p.m., presented by the Rotary Club of Patchogue in conjunction with the Island Outreach Foundation. Rotary Club of Patchogue's annual Steak & Cigar Dinner will be held prior to the show at neighboring restaurant Pera Bell Food Bar at 5 p.m. Ticket proceeds from both events will directly benefit Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center and more than 20 local charities. Steven Wright is a prototype comedian that many others continually try to follow. Beginning his comedy career at the age of 23 as a regular performer at Ding Ho's Comedy Club and Chinese Restaurant in Cambridge, Mass., Wright got his first big break when he was booked on 'The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.' Following his on-air performance, Steven Wright was invited to return the following week for a rare back-to-back appearance on 'The Tonight Show,' launching Wright's career into high gear. (more...)

The Northampton dance community suffered the loss of dancer Jonathan Ollivier, currently starring in Matthew Bourne's THE CAR MAN. Ollivier, 38, was killed when his motorcycle and a Mercedes collided on Sunday morning, 9 August, and pronounced dead under an hour after the accident. Over the weekend, I had pleasure of attending the fabulous annual gala event hosted by the Gateway Playhouse located in Bellport, Long Island. In essence, this is a fundraising event, now in its 5th year, to benefit the theatre. Everyone was in the spirit of the 70's - outfits, hair, you name it - as the party featured preview performances from their upcoming production of the musical Saturday Night Fever.
