Signature Theatre has announced another one-week extension for THE WAYSIDE MOTOR INN by A.R. Gurney, directed by Lila Neugebauer. The production will now play through Sunday, October 5, 2014. THE WAYSIDE MOTOR INN opened Thursday, September 4 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). $25 subsidized tickets for the production's initial run, through September 21, are sold out. Tickets during the extension, starting September 23, start at $55 each. (more...)

The 49-year-old Bulgarian native has been contracted to lead the CSO for four years beginning with the 2015-16 season. After Ben Vereen's legendary show here at Transcendence Theatre Company, we TTC artists are continuously reflecting on the cherished wisdom and inspiration that Ben has left deeply rooted into our hearts. One moment in particular that I continue to think about is when I asked Ben if he was excited for his show and he replied with a gigantic grin and both hands in the air, 'I wake up excited! Everyday!' I also surrendered my hands into the air and said 'Me too!' And then I realized that I was standing outside a vineyard of grapes, giggling with Ben Vereen about how we must live each day to the fullest... Later he also shared with our company, 'Don't knock em' dead. They're already dead, knock em' into life!' Those epic words will stick with me forever. Basically, when I grow up, I want to be like Ben Vereen! (more...)

Broadway's new ROCKY musical plays its final performance at the Winter Garden Theatre today, August 17th, after 28 previews and 188 regular performances. ROCKY received its world premiere in fall 2012 in Hamburg, Germany, where it continues to play to packed houses. The musical opened on Broadway on March, 13, 2014.
