Sam Poon to Headline Kid's Kabaret Benefit for SSM Cardinal Glennon, 8/2

On August 2, at 7:30 p.m., a performance entitled KID'S KABARET: A Broadway Inspired Benefit for SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center will be held at the beautiful Ivory Theatre at 7620 Michigan Ave, St Louis, MO 63111. Young actor Sam Poon is turning thirteen years old, and instead of a party, he is returning to St. Louis from NYC to perform in a show with many of his friends to raise money for the hospital that saved his life as an infant. Sam suffered from pertussis (whooping cough) and was septic as a young infant, and suffered a cardiac arrest. The doctors and nurses at SSM Cardinal Glennon saved his life. Rather than receiving gifts for his first teenage birthday, he would much rather give a gift to the children cared for by SSM Cardinal Glennon. (more...)

On Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. on the museum's Great Lawn, John Gatti will present "Canzoni di Domenica Pomeriggio" ("Songs for a Sunday Afternoon"). Introduced by Professor Louis Leonini, Gatti and his company-Broadway veteran PJ Nelson, and community theater veterans John Mangini, Charles Milo and Al Pica-will perform songs in tribute to Dean Martin and Connie Francis, along with Broadway classics, excerpts from operas, and a preview of Gatti's upcoming cabaret show, "PJ Plus 4." Mary-Ellen Ashley to Lead Staged Reading of THE HOUSE OF NUNZIO in NYC, Nov 2014

The House of Nunzio was named a semi-finalist in both the 2003 Mill Mountain Theatre New Play Competition and the Twenty-Sixth Annual Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Award. It was given a Workshop Production at ManhattanTheatreSource and was under production consideration by three regional theaters in the past decade. It now has interest from several Broadway Producers and investors and Producer Barbara Bemelmans in association with On PAR Productions, LLC will present an AEA 29 Hour Staged Reading at one of Ken Davenport's theaters this November.
