There is much anticipation as Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma prepares to present its holiday tradition, LYRIC'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL presented by Devon Energy, for the third year, today, November 29 through December 28 at the Plaza Theatre. Lyric will welcome, direct from Washington, D.C.'s Ford's Theatre's production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, nationally-acclaimed actor Chris Bloch in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Boasting an impressive resume, Bloch is best known for his work as Bob Cratchit and Ebenezer Scrooge, as well as in LES MISERABLES, 1776, TV's 'The West Wing' and much more.

Symphony Space, in collaboration with Hermitage Artist Retreat, presents the world premiere of The Day Before, a one-time-only multimedia event, on Friday, November 8 at 7:30 pm in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia. Conceived by the two organizations, it is produced and directed by Symphony Space's Artistic Director, Laura Kaminsky. The Day Before brings together more than 60 composers, writers, filmmakers, and visual artists to contribute original work around the theme November 21, 1963: The Day Before. Sparked by the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, this moving production reimagines the world as it was on the eve of that tragic and cataclysmic day.

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues its 2013-2014 season of mystery and romance with "110 in the Shade" by N. Richard Nash, music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones. Directed by Nancy McCullough Engle, the former Artistic Director of DMT, "110 in the Shade" features Melissa Reinertson as Lizzie Curry, Reg Clay as Starbuck, David Bauer as File, Avi Jacobson as H.C. Curry, Danny Martin as Noah Curry, James Koponen as Jimmie Curry and Emma Mercier as Snookie. Filled with achingly beautiful melodies and dynamic dance numbers, "110 in the Shade" is a heartfelt musical romance about one woman's learning to believe in herself. The show runs Nov. 14- Dec. 8, 2013.

The Central PA music community comes together today, October 7 to celebrate the music and legacy of Levon Helm; drummer, singer, actor, and concert innovator whose voice and larger than life personality influenced three generations. Helm - who played a variety of places here in Lancaster ---died following a long battle with cancer in April 2012 at age 71.
