Sweeney Todd has revealed the interim schedule of cast members taking on lead roles prior to Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster taking over next month.

Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford took their final bows in Sweeney Todd on Broadway on January 14. Following their last curtain call, the stars gave a speech on stage at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Check out the video here!

Elton John is now an EGOT. He won a Tony Award in 2000 for Best Original Score for Aida with Tim Rice. He was awarded with his first Oscar in 1995 for 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' from the Lion King. Other EGOT winners include Viola Davis, Whoopi Goldberg, Marvin Hamlisch, Helen Hayes, Alan Menken, Rita Moreno, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and more.

Aya Yasuda: A dancer from Japan with 14 years of experience in Paris. She began ballet at the age of 8 and entered the Ballet National de Marseille in France at 18. She performed as a dancer in the Broadway musical 'The King and I' at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in 2014, in the opening ceremony of 'UEFA EURO 2016,' and in the opening ceremony of the 'Red Sea International Film Festival' in Saudi Arabia in 2023. From 2017 to 2019, she actively participated in opera productions such as 'My Fair Lady,' 'Un bal masqué,' and 'Les noces de Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro)“ at opera theaters in France and the Netherlands. One of her notable works was as the original dancer in the Broadway musical 'The Lion King' (2021-2023) at the Paris Mogador Theatre.

Broadway Records Founder Van Dean is set to launch a new label called Center Stage Records, expanding his influence in the entertainment industry.

The 2024 Governors Awards took place on January 9, where Mel Brooks was honored with an Honorary Oscar for his legacy of work. The 36th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Program will be held Thursday, Jan. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Casino Live Hotel Ballroom in Hanover, Md. Dignitaries attending will include Maryland Governor Wes Moore, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, Congressman John Sarbanes, County Executive Steuart Pittman, and Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley. The keynote speaker will be Congressman Jonathan Jackson, the youngest son of Rev. Jesse Jackson and godson to Dr. King. Governor Moore will also provide comments at the event.
