Deafinitely Theatre today announces the Spring and Summer 2019 acting workshops for their theatre training course for deaf artists, The Hub. The workshops include Visual Vernacular, Comedy, Movement and Stage Combat and aim to equip participants for mainstream arts employment through structured, accessible and professional theatre training.

The Urban Stages' Retrospective (October 11- November 10) will feature ten plays from the past three decades. BAD JEWS is a 2012 play by Joshua Harmon that is billed as a dark comedy. When the beloved patriarch of a New York Jewish family dies, he leaves behind a treasured family heirloom that is a culturally significant piece of jewelry. The item in question was a piece of jewelry, traditionally worn by men, that he succeeded in hiding from the Nazis during the Holocaust. His grandchildren gather to attend to family business and end up fighting over not only the family heirloom, but over faith, cultural assimilation, and each other's life choices while reliving, sharing and remembering.

As previously reported, Epic Theatre Company's production of 'James Franco and Me' written by Kevin Broccoli cancelled its New York production, originally slated to go up in August, after the venue at which the play was to be performed received a cease and desist letter from Franco's lawyers. The playwright, Broccoli, began working with his own lawyers to respond to the cease and desist. Their letter, which has been emailed to Franco's attorneys as of today, September 27, can be read in full below. Broccoli and his lawyers are waiting on a response from Franco's legal team.

'THIS' a play by Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards) opened on the St. Germain Stage of Barrington Stage Company last night and had most of the first night audience telling there friends 'don't miss THIS', after leaving the theatre.  Broadwayworld was there for the opening night celebration.  When great ideas, words, and acting are heard in a theatre THIS is what happens.
