A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will present The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, opening the A.R.T.'s 2011-2 season on August 117 at the Loeb Drama Center. The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin, is adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and Diedre Murray, and directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus.

An Equity staged reading of the new jazz musical The Last Word will be presented on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 at Theater Three in at 6PM. Theater Three is located in midtown Manhattan at 311 W. 43rd Street on the 3rd Floor.

The 2009 Tony Award-winning Musical Revival HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical directed by Diane Paulus is headed back to Broadway for a limited run at the St. James Theater (currently home to AMERICAN IDIOT). The show will play from July 5 - September 10, before heading back onto the road.

Though Universal Pictures has chosen not to produce an IN THE HEIGHTS film, the studio has its sights set on another Broadway hit: Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT.

Our Time has announced that David Seidler, who recently won an Academy Award for writing this year's Best Picture, ‘The King's Speech', will be honored for his achievements, at their 9th Annual Gala, April 11th, 2011, in NYC. The event will take place at 7pm at Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) continues its celebrated role bringing the world's great theater companies to Chicago audiences with a World's Stage presentation of the National Theatre of Scotland's internationally acclaimed Black Watch March 29-April 10, 2011.

The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT previously announced that Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong would return to the role of "St. Jimmy" on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 for the final three weeks of the Broadway production at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street. Following 421 performances on Broadway and 27 previews, the final show is Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 7:30pm. The first national tour launches in the fall of 2011.

On Monday, April 4, 2011, National Dance Institute (NDI) a non-profit arts education organization that has transformed the lives of more than two million public school children since its founding by world-renowned dancer Jacques d'Amboise in 1976, will hold its annual gala.

Judy Kent, currently represented on Broadway as a producer of Driving Miss Daisy, presents an invitation-only reading of Welcome to My Life, a new pop/rock musical with a book by Alicia Dempster and Bobby Cronin, music and lyrics by Bobby Cronin. The reading will take place on April 11, 2011 at 2pm.

On March 26th, Roy Thomson Hall was packed with eager hopefuls who came out to audition for the National Tour of Green Day's American Idiot. Dancap will be presenting the tour in December of 2011, and Toronto was the only Canadian city that the casting directors visited. The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT announced today that original Broadway cast member and star of Scottsboro Boys Joshua Henry will return to the company on Tuesday, March 15 as 'Favorite Son.' Joining Henry is David Larsen (Billy Elliot) as 'Tunny' and P.J. Griffith (lead singer of the band Blue Movie) will play the role of 'St. Jimmy' from March 15-20 at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street.

Host Andy Cohen joined honorary chairs Hugh Dancy, Claire Daines, David Duchovny and Téa Leoni for MCC's annual MISCAST Gala. This one-night-only musical spectacular featured Broadway's hottest stars performing songs from roles in which they would never be cast.
