'A Blanket of Dust' is the story of a modern day Antigone.  The daughter of a U.S. Senator seeks justice for her husband, who has died in the World Trade Center. Her ordeal drives her to the outer fringes of society.  After struggling to establish facts that the government, the media, her family and her countrymen deny, she protests with a harrowing act of sacrificial tragedy.  The play's world premiere will be presented Off-Broadway by Delphi Film from June 6 to 30 at The Flea Theater Mainstage,  20 Thomas Street, directed by Chris Murrah.

Four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh will recreate her award-winning performance as Golda Meir in Golda's Balcony, when the acclaimed William Gibson play comes to the Segal Centre for Performing Arts from May 22 to June 10, 2018. There will be an ASL-interpreted performance on June 9.

Corrib Theatre presents Owen McCafferty's Quietly, directed by Artistic Director Gemma Whelan, a play that grapples with the carnage, consequences and hope for healing following Ireland's decades-long, bloody conflict referred to as the Troubles. The production features Ted Rooney, Tim Blough and Murri Lazaroff-Babin and runs for four weeks, April 13 through May 6, at New Expressive Works.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet presents four world premieres in the eighth annual Winning Works program, the culmination of Joffrey's national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for the Joffrey Academy's Eighth Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition. This year's Competition winners-Telmo Moreira, Omar Roman De Jesus, Claudia Schreier and Luis Vazquez-each have choreographed an original work created on the Joffrey Academy Trainees and Studio Company. Winning Works returns to the MCA's Edlis Neeson Theater (220 E. Chicago Avenue) for three performances, Saturday, March 3 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 PM. Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) has added a performance (February 8 at 9pm) to its critically lauded world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box, directed by Evan Yionoulis. The run will conclude, as a scheduled, on February 11.

Lysistrata in Jerusalem is a new play by Jean R. Freedman with additions and emendations by Abeer Shehadeh. In Lysistrata in Jerusalem Jean R. Freedman has updated Aristophanes' classic comedy in which women from warring city-states band together and refuse to have sex with their men until a peace treaty is signed. Lysistrata in Jerusalem brings this strategy to the contemporary Middle East, creating a world in which Israeli and Palestinian women seek to end the conflict by taking matters into their own hands.

Mosaic Theater Company of DCtakes its acclaimedVoices From a Changing Middle East Festival on tour this winter, bringing several of its seminal Festival productions (I SHALL NOT HATE, VIA DOLOROSA, and the recent film adaptation of WRESTLING JERUSALEM) to the University of Oklahoma, Grinnell College, and Eastern Mennonite University for presentations of each project, and culminating in a special evening at the University of Chicago's Logan Center for the Arts where excerpts from all three works will be shared in a single evening. The tour reflects different dimensions of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the efforts to achieve reckoning and reconciliation through live performance and discussion, in works performed in English, Arabic, and Hebrew (with translated surtitles).

Set in Georgia and New York City in 1941, He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box is a heartbreaking, nail-biting memory tale of segregation, theatrical yearning, and doomed love.

Good satire needs two things: merciless mockery, and a compelling narrative. Sandbox Radio's farcical 63 Trillion nails the mockery, but focuses so much of its attention on cramming in as many double-entendres as possible that the narrative becomes secondary to the dick jokes.

This summer's runaway hit is Steep Theatre's Lela & Co. This powerful U.S. premiere will run through September 16. Steep is adding eight new chances to hear Lela's passionately told story of resilience and hope in the face of overwhelming adversity, featuring Cruz Gonzalez-Cadel and Chris Chmelik, whose performances have been described as 'stunning,' 'fantastic,' and 'extraordinary empathetic.'

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced today additional casting for the highly anticipated world premiere of The Minutes by ensemble member, Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts, directed by Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro. Ensemble members Kevin Anderson (Mr. Breeding), James Vincent Meredith (Mr. Blake), Sally Murphy (Ms. Matz) and William Petersen (Mayor Superba) join previously announced ensemble members Francis Guinan (Mr. Oldfield) and Ian Barford (Mr. Carp) in the cast of this new political comedy. Also featured in the cast are Brittany Burch as Ms. Johnson, Cliff Chamberlain as Mr. Peel and Penny Slusher as Ms. Innes. Previously announced ensemble member Tim Hopper is no longer in the cast due to a scheduling conflict. Remaining roles to be announced at a later date.

With most of the original run sold out, Steep Theatre's production of Lela & Co. has been extended through Saturday, September 2.

Hurried Steps is a hard hitting, powerful text by award-winning Italian writer, Dacia Maraini. It will open 2017's Women and War: EXODUS festival at Streatham Hill Theatre, with an all-star cast, featuring Michael Brandon and Glynis Barber. To start the evening, Madhav Sharma will read Your Voice by Mark Ravenhill.

Artistic Director Evalyn Parry announced an exciting line-up for Buddies in Bad Times Theatre's 2017/18 season today. The season presents a series of engaging, timely productions that grapple with questions of race, indigeneity, sex, queerphobia, religion, and climate change.

Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.
