In Conflict Photos - Off-Broadway

Corrib Theatre presents Owen McCafferty's Quietly, directed by Artistic Director Gemma Whelan, a play that grapples with the carnage, consequences and hope for healing following Ireland's decades-long, bloody conflict referred to as the Troubles. The production features Ted Rooney, Tim Blough and Murri Lazaroff-Babin and runs for four weeks, April 13 through May 6, at New Expressive Works.

One of the difficulties of doing the Disney Theatrical, The Little Mermaid, is how to do the underwater scenes. Yes, much of the story of Ariel, the daughter of King Triton, the master of the sea, in her search for 'a world in which I feel truly realized in my own terms,' takes place, as the songs states, 'Under the Sea,' in contrast to 'The World Above.'

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre kicks off its 44th season with the first play of 'The Ed Bullins Project' - two revivals from his 'Twentieth Century Cycle of Plays' - IN THE WINE TIME, to be followed by The Fabulous Miss Marie this spring. In The Wine Time, directed by Mansoor Najee-ullah, will begin performances October 25th at Castillo Theater (543 West 42nd Street), continuing through November 24th. Opening Night is set for Thursday November 7th.

Yesterday, May 10, legendary actress Mia Farrow was honored with the 2011 Marian Anderson Award at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Farrow accepted the Award at a Gala Concert produced in partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra, which will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Rehearsals began March 16 at Kansas City Repertory Theatre for the world premiere production of Venice, an explosive new musical written by Rep artistic director Eric Rosen and Matt Sax, creators of the hit hip hop musical Clay. Rosen will direct; choreography is by John Carrafa (Urinetown, Into the Woods) and Tanisha Scott (video choreography for Sean Paul, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé). Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will present Keith Reddin's and Meg Gibson's Too Much Memory, March 25 - April 3, in the Studio Theatre on the Storrs campus.

Roundabout Theatre Company's (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) Off-Broadway production of Streamers opened on Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through January 11th, 2009.

Circle in the Square Theatre (Theodore Mann, Artistic Director and Paul Libin, Managing Director) has joined Culture Project as producer of the upcoming New York production of The Atheist, presented by Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director). The dark comedy, written by Ronan Noone, directed by Justin Waldman and starring Campbell Scott as 'Augustine Early,' began performances at Culture Project's temporary new home, Barrow Street Theatre, on Tuesday, October 7th. It had an official opening Sunday evening, October 12.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present a new Off-Broadway production of David Rabe's award winning drama Streamers, directed by Scott Ellis. Streamers will begin performances on Friday, October 17th and open officially on Thursday, November 11th, 2008, Off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).
