ODC Theater is proud to present Cori Olinghouse in the West Coast premiere of GRANDMA, February 15 - 17. Best known for her practice of 'Clown Therapy,' which she defines as 'shape-shifting and a queering of the clown form,' Olinghouse in Grandma excavates the effects of television, the media and her own family lineage as portals to parody American consumerism. Sharing the bill with Grandma is Olinghouse's short film Ghost line. Performances run Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, and may be purchased online at odc.dance/tickets or by phone at 415-863-9834.

Famed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater marks its annual Kennedy Center engagement, February 6 11, with seven magnetic performances on the Opera House stage. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, the company's performances include two D.C. debuts, three new productions, and a total of 10 works by a range of diverse choreographers. Alvin Ailey's American masterpiece Revelations will be performed as the finale for all seven programs.

Following the opening of the Company's first permanent home, Target Margin Theater has announced that 13 diverse artists, via three distinct programs, will be supported in 2018. The Company's new home, located in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn, enables Target Margin Theater to deepen their support of the next generation of theater makers through its annual incubator LAB festival, it's five-year-old fellowship program, and its new artist-in-residency program.

For three unique dance performances, Khambatta Dance Company (KDC) together with Mexico City's Ciudad Interior (CI) will push down the emotionally and politically-charged border wall at the first annual Seattle International Dance Festival Winter Mini-Fest. These two highly respected contemporary dance troupes will take over Capitol Hill's Broadway Performance Hall for two weekends to examine the societal, economic, cultural and emotional boundaries that touch both US and Mexican borders.

The Kitchen presents 'Julius Eastman: That Which Is Fundamental,' an interdisciplinary project of performances and a two-part exhibition, curated by artist Tiona Nekkia McCloden and Bowerbird founder Dustin Hurt, that comprises the most expansive demonstration yet of Julius Eastman's rousing creative output, January 19 - February 10, 2018.

New York Theatre Workshop has announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of AN ORDINARY MUSLIM, by NYTW Usual Suspect and 2017-18 Tow Foundation Playwright-in-Residence Hammaad Chaudry (Salaam, Mr. Bush), directed by NYTW Usual Suspect and Obie Award winner Jo Bonney (The Body of An American).

At a time when our nation's response to immigrants and refugees is hotly debated, Theater J opens its 2017-2018 season with the powerful and poetic Sotto Voce by Nilo Cruz.  Sotto Voce, which is set in motion by the ill-fated 1939 trip of the S.S. St. Louis, runs October 3-29.

Five theatre directors are slated for the fifth Sundance Institute | LUMA Foundation Theatre Directors Retreat, which convenes in Arles, France, August 25 through September 7. The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced today that Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, choreographer and founding artistic director of Urban Bush Women, will be the recipient of the 2017 NY Dance and Performance Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dance, and writer Eva Yaa Asantewaa will receive this year's award for Outstanding Service to the Field of Dance.

Based in Israel, Roy Assaf Dance makes its U.S. debut with a program of clever and heartfelt works in the Doris Duke Theatre July 12-16. A rising choreographic star, Assaf has been commissioned by companies across the globe including Batsheva Dance Company, The Royal Swedish Ballet, National Dance Company Wales, and LA Dance Project.
