Marissa Follo Perry received the surprise of a lifetime onstage at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport CT, on Sunday, April 7 at the final curtain call for SISTER ACT.

Algonquin Theater Productions has announced that veteran theater stars Ken Jennings from the United States and Joaquin Romero from Mexico will be portraying Walter Winchell in the international presentation of the new Al Tapper musical The Paparazzi. The performance will feature casts from both Guadalajara and New York as they tell the tale of The Paparazzi in both English and Spanish. This one night only event will be done at the historic Ellington Room at 400 West 43rd Street, February 28th at 7:30pm.

The world-premiere workshop presentation of Nicholas Kaminski's original musical Transgender Stillborn will be held at Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, New Jersey, at Nov. 11 at 5 PM. The reading will be free and open to the public.

This September features many new titles coming to Amazon Prime. Prime Original series King Lear will become available on Prime Video on September 28th. Other Prime Originals coming to the service in September include series premieres of Six Dreams (Sep 7) and Forever (Sep 14) as well as season 1a of Pete the Cat (Sep 7) and season 2b of Wishenpoof (Sep 7). Six emerging composers will participate in the 27th Annual Underwood New Music Readings on June 21-22, 2018 at a location to be announced. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full cast and creative team for the world-premiere musical Snow Child, based on Eowyn Ivey's Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel. Infused with a score that combines Alaskan string band-traditions with contemporary musical theater, Snow Child follows a couple rebuilding their lives in the Alaskan wilderness when they meet a magical and mysterious snow child who transforms them.

According to Variety, Bette Midler will return to the big screen opposite Sharon Stone in a movie adaptation of Charles Busch's play, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife. Andy Fickman will direct the project.
