Waitress, the hit Broadway musical, is now the longest-running show ever to play at the prestigious Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway, passing the historic engagement of Same Time, Next Year which ran from March 1975 to May 1978.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. If you are wondering whether it's necessary for you to have seen Qui Nguyen's critically-acclaimed 2015 play VIETGONE in order to enjoy its superior new sequel POOR YELLA REDNECKS, then don't worry too much about it. This incredibly funny, incredibly innovative, and incredibly well-acted follow-up is, by itself, a singular, superb stand-alone gem. They're all likely coming from South Coast Repertory, where this entertaining and thought-provoking must-see sequel is currently being presented in its first full World Premiere production through April 27, 2019 as part of the Tony Award-winning theater's annual Pacific Playwright's Festival. I truly cannot recommend this play-with-music enough.

The Civilians, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director Steve Cosson and Managing Director Margaret Moll, is proud to present the world premiere of Paul Swan is Dead and Gone by Claire Kiechel, a former member of The Civilians' R&D Group where the play was first developed. Directed by Cosson and starring Tony Torn as the real-life Paul Swan, the production marks Kiechel's New York debut and runs April 25 - May 19, with an opening night set for May 1. For an audience of only 30, the intimate and immersive performance takes place at Torn Page (435 West 22nd Street, Manhattan), a salon-style performance space located inside a historic Chelsea townhouse originally purchased by Torn's parents, Geraldine Page and Rip Torn.

dick clark productions and NBC today announced nominees for the "2019 Billboard Music Awards," which honors the year's most successful artists in 56 categories across all genres of music.  "2019 Billboard Music Awards" host Kelly Clarkson and chart-topping duo Dan + Shay, kicked off the nominations this morning, live on NBC's "Today."  Last year's Top Rap Female Artist winner, Cardi B, leads the pack with 21 nods, followed by Drake and Post Malone, each with 17.  Other nominees and possible record-breakers include Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Travis Scott and XXXTENTACION. 

Impeaching America is an allegorical political satire about AMERICA who is confused, frustrated, disillusioned and just plain tired.  His solution is to impeach himself.  He wants to quit, but he wants to quit with Honor and with the Due Process as provided for within his document of creation: the Constitution.  He initiates the proceeding by selecting a Bi-Bunal (he wanted to get three, but for many reasons, no one else wanted to do it) consisting of Godd and Satann to determine his/our fate.  He is defended by three attorneys: a liberal, a conservative and a voice of reason.

I have been a huge fan of both Wil Love and Carl Schurr for many years. They are currently both performing in Everyman Theatre's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST which ends its run Dec. 30, 2018. They have become two patriarchs of the Baltimore theatre scene. 11th Hour Theatre Company brings its consistently sold out concert series back home and as the series begins its 2018-2019 season it has grown. 11th Hour's Next Step Concert Series is now set to run over two weekends. They begin their season with a concert performance of Grey Gardens. Grey Gardens features Music by Scott Frankel, Lyrics by Michael Korie and a Book by Doug Wright. 11th Hour Theatre Company Associate Artistic Director and Co-Founder Steve Pacek directs.  Amanda Morton is the Music Director. Grey Gardens runs October 6-14. The official Media Opening is Sunday, October 7 at 2 p.m.  Tickets cost $36 (which includes a $4 service fee). $19 tickets are available online for Students and Industry. When NBC Sports presents the Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Atlanta Falcons in the “NFL Kickoff” game next Thursday, Sept. 6 (coverage begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC), it will mark the 10th season together in the broadcast booth for the NBC Sunday Night Football announce team of Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth.
