In a production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, the UK premiere of David French's classic Salt-Water Moon opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 3 January 2023 (Press Nights: Thursday, 5 January 2023 and Friday, 6 January 2023 at 7.30pm). Bloomingdale School of Music will present The Piano Music of Ed Bland, a free online faculty concert, on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 7pm. In honor of Black History Month, faculty member Judith Olson will perform works by African American composer Ed Bland (1926-2013), with whom she worked for many years.

The production features Emanuelle Araujo, in the role of sarcastic Velma Kelly; Paulo Szot, as  the charming and unscrupulous Billy Flynn (a role he currently played on Broadway); and Carol Costa as the “innocent” and surprising Roxie Hart. The Milburn Stone Theatre at Cecil College is ready to present the longest running American show on Broadway, Chicago, for the first time in its twenty-eight-year history. Chicago was originally written as a play in 1926 by Chicago tribune courthouse reporter, Maurine Dallas Watkins. Chicago was famously turned into a Broadway musical by John Kander and Fred Ebb and directed and choregraphed by Bob Fosse. Chicago was the winner of the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The 2002 film adaptation went on to win six academy awards including “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best Picture.”
