The Shakespeare Theatre Association (STA) annual conference came to Prague this year. It has an extensive performance program, crafted by host Guy Roberts and Prague Shakespeare Company, that was open to the public as well as conference attendees. The conference was all about bringing the focus back to the artistic sides of things, as theatre tries to compete in a world filled with on-demand entertainment.

Tom Petty's career-spanning box set, An American Treasure, enters the Billboard Top 200 chart at #9, marking his 13th top 10 album, and it is the #1 Rock Album. The collection is available for purchase HERE. 

A Few Good Men, presented by Simply Theatre, comes to the Joyce Doolittle Theatre starting October 19

Prepare for an illuminating journey when The Psychedelic Film and Music Festival holds its inaugural event featuring a lineup of science fiction, horror, fantasy, surrealist and virtual reality films, music and stage performances and panel discussions set to explore the altered states of consciousness and truth behind the vibrant and enduring psychedelic culture. The week-long gathering will feature musical performances by Simon Boswell with The AND, Psychic Ills, Heaven, Michael Tapper, Roosevelt Island and Nosh alongside appearances by researchers Dr. Dennis McKenna, Robert Barnhart and other special guests notable for breakthroughs in the psychedelic community. Premiering at venues in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, the festival will run October 1-7, 2018.

Known to generations of theatre aficionados, film enthusiasts and television devotees, Bruce Davison will be appearing at The Pasadena Playhouse beginning September 5, 2018 in playwright Karen Zacarias' NATIVE GARDENS. Directed by Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, this surprisingly topical tale of neighbors fighting over their shared fence features Frances Fisher as Virginia Butley (wife to Bruce's Frank Butley), with Christian Barillas and Jessica Meraz as Pablo and Tania Del Valle, the newbie couple on the block.

Tom Cruise celebrates the start of filming for the much-anticipated Top Gun sequel with a first look image on his twitter account accompanied by the hashtah #Day1. The star will be returning to the franchise in the role of Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell.

Just one month after Discovery, Inc. (Nasdaq: DISCA, DISCB, DISCK) completed its acquisition of Scripps Networks Interactive, President and CEO David Zaslav and other company executives will provide a first look at the new global leader in real life entertainment to investors, advertisers, buyers, analysts and other partners today at 4 p.m. ET at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York.

The Human Race Theatre Company (HRTC) is proud to introduce the lineup for its 2018-2019 Eichelberger Loft Series - a five-show collection of works that examines specific moments in history-real and imaginary, corrects ancient history and revisits a part of the company's own history. The season, featuring one fierce musical and four engaging plays, begins September 6, 2018. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 was the grand opening of Grand Hotel. I was thrilled to be in attendance and the performance did not disappoint. With the book by Luther Davis; music and lyrics by Robert Wright and George Forrest; additional music lyrics by Maury Yeston, music director of the Encores! Orchestra, Rob Berman; and directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes; as well as a talented cast, the performance was great fun from beginning to end.

This limited engagement at Urban Stages (259 West 30th Street), begins performances on Friday, March 9, opens on Monday, March 12 and will run through Saturday, March 31, 2018.

Signature Theatre announces the full cast and creative team for the DC premiere of Annie Baker's John, directed by Signature Theatre Director of New Work Joe Calarco (Signature's The Gulf, Jesus Christ Superstar). Elias and Jenny, a young Brooklyn couple, escape on a much-needed getaway to a cozy bed-and-breakfast in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. However, under the watchful eye of the cheery, if slightly off, innkeeper, a ghost seems to haunt their crumbling relationship. Annie Baker's John was called "so good on so many levels that it casts a unique and brilliant light' by The New Yorker. John will run April 3 - April 29 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre.

Asolo Rep will host Inside Asolo Rep: RHINOCEROS and ROE on Wednesday, February 28 at 11am, with refreshments at 10:30am. This insightful behind-the-scenes panel will feature Frank Galati (Director, RHINOCEROS), Lavina Jadhwani (Director, ROE), Peggy Roeder (Queen Elizabeth, SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE; Mrs. Boeuf, RHINOCEROS); and Terri Weagant (Norma McCorvey, ROE). The Drama League today announced the 2017-2018 Board of Directors Executive Committee. Longtime board members assuming new leadership roles are Stan Ponte, named President, along with Bonnie Comley, 1st Vice President, Kathy Henderson, 2nd Vice President, Susan Lang, 3rd Vice President, Anna May Feige, Secretary and Ken Wirth, Treasurer.

CRT's Headwaters New Play Festival is the source of new plays in the West, and fosters the development of new plays for CRT's stages and beyond. 2017 Playwrights will spend one week in development with a cast, director, and dramaturg at Creede Repertory Theatre, culminating in public readings and performances August 25th-26th.
