At Opera Saratoga's Annual Meeting on Sunday December 8, 2020, a new slate of officers was elected, followed by the announcement of the results from the company's 2019 fiscal year, which closed on September 30, 2019. The company reported another year of artistic and financial success thanks to the generosity, engagement and partnership of communities throughout the lower Adirondack and New York State capital regions.

59E59 Theaters presents the world premiere of A WOMAN OF THE WORLD written by Rebecca Gilman and directed by Valentina Fratti. Produced by The Acting Company in association with Miranda Theatre Company, A WOMAN OF THE WORLD begins performances on Thursday, October 24 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 17. The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced today that Obie and Bessie Award winner Justin Vivian Bond, hailed by The New Yorker as “the best cabaret artist of their generation,' will host the 2019 awards ceremony. The performers and award presenters were also revealed.

"In a story, someone had a dream. In that Dream, someone told a story." A Dream Like a Dream is one of the most celebrated Chinese theatrical masterworks of the 21st century. It was conceived and created by Stan Lai, who recently became the first Chinese theatre professional inducted into the Sibiu Walk of Fame at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, Romania's pre-eminent performing arts event. In 2002, the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre was the first professional company to mount A Dream Like a Dream, winning Best Overall Performance, Best Costume Design and Best Supporting Actor (TragedyDrama) at the 12th Hong Kong Drama Awards. After a hiatus of 17 years, the HKRep produces this work anew, co-directed by Stan Lai and HKRep Assistant Artistic Director Fung Wai Hang, with special guests Louisa So, three-time Hong Kong Drama Award Best Actor Poon Chan Leung and ViuTV series star Cecilia Choi from My Very Short Marriage leading a 30-member cast of HKRep company members and other outstanding local actors. The production runs from July 28th to September 8th at The Box, Freespace, Art Park, West Kowloon Cultural District. On July 11th, a limited number of tickets will be available for sale for the preview performance (July 27th) and the production run from URBTIX outlets and the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.

Japan Society proudly presents Cross Transit, a collaborative multimedia dance work by acclaimed Japanese choreographer/dancer Akiko Kitamura, with video, photos and narration by Cambodian visual artist Kim Hak. Cross Transit arrives at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street) for two performances only: Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 at 7:30pm, as part of a North American tour, produced and organized by Japan Society, that includes stops at Towson University (North American Premiere; March 15; Asian Arts & Culture Center / Stephen Halls Theatre) and The Kennedy Center (March 19).

Full casting has been announced for Pride Films and Plays' production of SOUTHERN COMFORT. The musical will open to the press on March 4, 2019 in the Broadway theater of the Pride Arts Center and play through March 31.

Co-curators: choreographer Stefanie Nelson of Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup and bestselling author David Shenk (The Forgetting) present the launch of a new festival devoted to memory and forgetting. The inaugural event will feature Stefanie Nelson's A, MY NAME IS…, a dance piece inspired by a family experience with dementia, using several short films from David Shenk's Living With Alzheimer's Film Project. It will take place on January 23, 2019, at Aaron Davis Hall at The City College of New York (129 Convent Avenue at West 135th Street), with performances at 11:00 am and 6:30 pm. Happy 100th birthday, American Airlines Theatre! Roundabout's flagship home on Broadway, the American Airlines Theatre first opened its doors as the Selwyn Theatre in 1918. In 2000, Roundabout restored the theatre to its original neo-renaissance style as part of the 42nd Street Development Project, thanks to generous support from the City of New York. Through an unprecedented partnership between Roundabout and American Airlines, this historic theatre remains one of Broadway's most exquisite and patron-friendly houses.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler, announced the cast of the first production of its 2018-19 Season: Universe Rushing Apart: Blue Kettle & Here We Go, two one-act plays by Caryl Churchill, directed by Bryn Boice. The production runs November 7-18 at the Black Box Theater, Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College in Wellesley.

Transport Group has announced casting for its world premiere musical, Renascence, which begins performances Friday, October 5 at 7:30pm, at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street. Renascence has music by Carmel Dean (musical director If/Then, American Idiot), book by Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Everyday Rapture), and lyrics from the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. The musical is directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III and Dick Scanlan. The opening is set for Thursday, October 25 at 7:30pm.

Artistic Director, Akia Squitieri today that after a Sold Out run of Rising Sun Performance Company's world premiere production of ELEPHANT at the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, the production is being given two encore performances at the Kraine Theatre.

Living Over The Rainbow is a new musical based on a true story that made national headlines in 2008 when a young gay teenager, Lawrence King, was murdered by a fellow classmate at his high school in Oxnard, California. The circumstances of his death and the issues brought to light by it have now been made into a heartfelt and inspirational musical about acceptance and finding peace crafted by Roz Esposito.

Rising Sun Performance Company (RSP) returns to the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (PCTF) for the fifth consecutive year, with the World Premiere of ELEPHANT, written by Eva MeiLing Pollitt. The production is co-directed by RSP Artistic Director, Akia Squitieri, and Associate Artistic Director, Anna Hogan. ELEPHANT runs for at the 10th annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festival will take place July 11th through August 5th at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center.

Irondale is proud to present the New York premiere of Sea of Common Catastrophe, a surreal multimedia theater work that grapples with complicity in the face of rapid urban change. Designed and directed by Jeff Becker, who leads a team of fellow New Orleans-based artists, Sea of Common Catastrophe follows three long-time residents of a tiny seaside town whose lives are uprooted when a compelling stranger arrives. Inspired by a passage from Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novella Sea of Lost Time-where a town drowns on a Sunday afternoon but persists, submerged, in its daily life, as if the deluge had never occurred-Sea of Common Catastrophe uses spectacular lighting and video, live music, and an innovative two-story set to evoke a changing landscape of upscale living and chic restaurants that suddenly transforms into a magical sunken world.

The pioneering International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) returns to Lincoln Center's 2018 Mostly Mozart Festival for its eleventh consecutive season with four unique programs August 2-9, 2018. Having performed annually at the Mostly Mozart Festival since 2008, ICE was named Artist-in-Residence for the festival in 2011.

The 2018 theater season opens at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater with This Is Our Youth, by Academy Award winner Kenneth Lonergan, directed by Katherine M. Carter and starring Michael Goldsmith, John Evans Reese and Ruby Wolf. Designers for This Is Our Youth are Edward Morris (Scenic Design), Caitlin Cisek (Costume Design), Conor Mulligan (Lighting Design), and Beth Lake (Sound Design). Performances are at 8:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays, June 1-22. Two preview performances, May 30 and 31, begin at 7:30 p.m.
