The critically acclaimed, smash hit drag show "MargOH! Channing is TIPSY!," written and conceived by writer and performance artist BT Shea (2014 MAC Nominee, Best Drag Artist) makes its Free Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut at The Basement Bar @ The Phoenix.

"MargOH! Channing is TIPSY!" is a gin-soaked romp; part theater, part cabaret. This is the deconstruction of drag, through the life and times of this often demented, occasionally glamorous and always drunken Diva as she (with MAN-ee Champagne's hazy but unfaltering support) tackles topics such as rape, incest, politics and the one thing we all have in common: dysfunction! Comedic monologues, original music and sloshy standards backed by cutie Curtis Reynolds on the keys. This brassy, boozy chanteuse and her glitter-dipped Gayiancé will pop your cork with love, laughter, booze and song.

MargOH! Channing, the daughter of a poor fishmonger from Bangor, Maine has been entertaining audiences, including sailors, since she was six years old. Her career spans more than five decades and includes turns as a Russ Meyer player in such films as Common Law Cabin. Ms. Channing is also credited as being "the world's most decorated extra," appearing in some 1,600 films as of press time, including a stint as Shelly Winters' body double in The Poseidon Adventure. After spending years in Bangkok, Thailand where she ran a 25-seat cabaret, bordello, and escort service. She is now living back in New York City and has quickly become a premiere cabaret artist described as the "boozy chanteuse".

We recently contacted Ms.Channing by phone and asked if she was excited about coming to Edinburgh, she replied, "I am so thrilled to be part of the Free Edinburgh Fringe Festival especially with my Gayiancé MAN-ee Champagne by my side; we are celebrating our 20th year of no sex. Most importantly though, I'm hoping they have hard cider on tap so I can get extra Tipsy! I'm bringing fermented realness, isn't that what the kids are calling it these days? So drop your kilts and let's have a ball." She sounds, well, fabulous! Let's all get Tipsy!...see ya at the party kids!
