MAGIC MIKE meets Cirque du Soleil in the latest fringe outing for the outrageous Australian cabaret troupe Briefs. BRIEFS: THE SECOND COMING opens with dinner suited men with perfectly preened hair stripping down to the aforementioned, behind deftly dangled feathers and straight away the tone is set, much to the delight of the cheering audience.

This is certainly not a kids' show (and the language is more than a little fruity), but at the same time this is more than mere titillation; real talent is on display as the boys put their rippling muscles to good use. Rope climbers, trapeze artists and acrobats are all on display, as is very inventive and hugely revealing underwear.

This cheeky and inventive show even manages to make an exciting act of completing a Rubik's cube, combined with some incredibly creative banana eating, all by the youngest member of Briefs, 19 year old Louis Biggs.

Host Fez Faanana keeps the show rolling along with the right combination of nonchalance, arrogance and swear words. There are evil monkeys, hula hoops and a frankly fantastic take on dogs doing tricks to be best in show. The costumes (yes, there are costumes) also need to be seen, expertly designed by troupe member Dallas Dellaforce.

This troupe connect well with the over-excited audience, and participation is to be expected, particular if you sit near the front. If you really want to get up close to the boys, make sure you buy as many raffle tickets as you can. This is post-watershed unadulterated fun. It's no surprise that much of the audience, particularly the front row, were there for second and third helpings. BRIEFS: THE SECOND COMING will keep you coming back for more.

"BRIEFS: THE SECOND COMING" runs at 1950 at until August 26th (not 13th) at Assembly George Square.
