TOO SOON! Every month Naked Empire Bouffon Company uses world events polite company considers TOO SOON to laugh about as source material for an outrageous evening of satirical sport. Featuring extreme physical comedy, social relevance, and a no-holds-barred relationship with the audience, a rotating cast of prophetic pranksters take ONE DAY to create and perform the show. It's all just TOO SOON!

San Francisco, August 8, 2016. Since 2009, Naked Empire Bouffon Company has been a pioneer in bouffon, a rarely seen form of image-driven satire that is at once profane and profound. Over the last year, the company has been partnering with PianoFight to share their unique brand of comedy in a one-of-a-kind, late night monthly event, TOO SOON! at PianoFight every 4th Saturday of the month.

Founder and Artistic Director, Nathaniel Justiniano, leads a rotating motley crew of company members, bouffon students, and Bay Area performers through a creative process as equally outrageous as the product. The devisers gather at 10:00am the day of the show with no idea what the show will be. Then, the group collaborates in a whirlwind of research, improvization, game design, choral movement, and slapstick choreography. By nightfall, TOO SOON! is a one-night-only comedy more physical, irreverent and prophetic than anything offered by improv and sketch comedy troupes in the Bay Area.

The bouffons are physically-distorted, subversive creatures that shamelessly celebrate their grotesque existence. They have no opinions. They live to play. Their favorite toys are society's shame and denial. They use ecstatic ritual, parody, games, song, extreme physical comedy, and audience interaction in order to get folks laughing at themselves. Nothing is off limits for these equal opportunity offenders. Celebrity deaths, airport bombings, election season, mass shootings, police department scandals, Pokemon Go, and transgender bathroom laws have all been featured in recent shows.

Naked Empire Bouffon Company is a performance ensemble dedicated to researching, practicing, and popularizing bouffon through training and performance both locally and internationally. Bouffon is a broad performance realm rooted in satire and mockery and often features a band of outrageously embodied anti-clowns charming and challenging the audience. Naked Empire is the only company in the United States exclusively dedicated to the practice.
