OPIE BELLAS · NINTH MUSE (Album release celebration)

Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 7 p.m.
Tickets: $20

Opie Bellas comes from a family of painters, writers, actors, designers and singers so a passion for self-expression is in her blood. As a jazz singer, she has packed concert halls in Capetown and Johannesburg South Africa, Queensland Australia, Vals Switzerland and Osaka, Fukai and Kanzawa Japan. Closer to home she has been seen in jazz clubs and cabarets in both New York and San Francisco. She has recorded three CDs including "How Do You Keep the Music Playing," "Faces" (Top 50 on Jazz Week) and "Live for Life." Opie's voice can also be heard on a California Lottery TV commercial and, for a number of years, on NPR as host of Concert Matinee. Ms. Bellas has also been known to play a mean game of tennis, but when she is singing she serves up nothing but love.

Join Opie Bellas' release of her 5th album entitled, "Ninth Muse" featuring an international treasure trove of songs she interprets with exquisite taste, piercing emotional intelligence, and sumptuous musicality that's long distinguished her work.

RUSS LORENSON · A LITTLE TRAVELIN' MUSIC
Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7 p.m.
Tickets: $20-$35

Russ Lorenson, "San Francisco's Favorite Crooner," has established a reputation as one of the San Francisco Bay Area's leading interpreters of jazz standards, with a sound and approach that place him at the intersection of Broadway, jazz, and pop - the very essence of the Great American Songbook. Jazz Review says that "Lorenson is not just a crooner covering the traditional Sinatra style or trying to be the next Connick; he is his own man."

Nominated for a 2007 MAC Award by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, Russ Lorenson's passion for the stage started as a youngster, with a performing career that began at age seven in his home town of Philadelphia. As an actor he has appeared in award-winning musical productions with theatre companies throughout the US, and has toured with the National Theatre for Children. As a vocalist he has toured the US, UK and Europe, appearing in concert with such luminaries as Broadway stars Teri Ralston (Company, A Little Night Music, The Baker's Wife), Karen Mason (Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard) and Dale Kristien (Phantom of the Opera), "Queen of Cabaret" Andrea Marcovicci, jazz diva Wesla Whitfield, and as the opening act for the legendary Eartha Kitt.

"A Little Travelin' Music" is Lorenson's first nightclub show from 2005. From London to Chicago, Gershwin to Mercer, Paris to New York, and Mancini to Manilow, Russ Lorenson takes audiences on the musical journey of his life via the great standards of the 20th century. Russ makes the trip unique, fresh, and exciting as he tells the story of his odyssey from being a full-time stage performer to a high-tech executive with a million-mile travel schedule, and back again to the stage.

To celebrate 10 years as a nightclub performer, Lorenson will perform a series of concerts at Feinstein's at the Nikko throughout 2015. Additional performance dates will be announced at a later date.

BETTY ROI

Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 7 p.m.

Tickets: $20

Betty Roi is an authentic French Chanteuse. Born in Paris, then her interest in dance took her to New York to study at the Alvin Ailey School where her travels brought her to San Francisco in 1983. Betty instantly realized she had found a new home. Since then she has performed French cabaret music throughout the Bay Area in venues such as Alliance Francais, Cafe Claude, the DeYoung Museum, Herbst Theater, Tosca Cafe and Yoshi's. She has released three CDs including Enchante; La Chanteuse de Paris and La Lumiere du Son.

Betty will present a collection of songs made famous by singers such as Josephine Baker and Edith Piaf that evoke feelings of Paris, love, longing and happiness. Accompanied by her Kingtette trio, Betty will also sing beloved jazz standards in both English and French. Their lyrical poetry and exquisite melodies transcend time, language and the boundaries that seem to seperate us.

All seating at Feinstein's at the Nikko is cabaret style and available on a first-come, first-served basis within the section purchased.
