WPPAC Invites Local Performers to Take Part in 'Play in a Day' Project

When was the last time you were on stage? Was it high school? Before that? Do you want to get back in the spotlight? Well here's your chance!

The White Plains Performing Arts Center is opening up it's doors to actors, directors, and playwrights during its 2nd annual Play in a Day Project entitled 2nd Night Stand: Back For More!

Produced by Stage 2 at the White Plains Performing Arts Center, 2nd Night Stand will bring 10-minute plays from conception to performance . . . all within one day!

Artists and community members from the tri-state area are invited to participate in this One Day Project.

"We are excited to bring this event back. Last year we had almost 50 people participate and the feedback was fantastic," states Ariana Moses, Director of Education at WPPAC. "This project is about community building We hope to bring people back to the theatre."

In this Play in a Day Project, teams of playwrights will work through the night to write original ten-minute scripts. The next morning while the playwrights sleep, the production teams will put together these plays to be ready for performance by 7pm.

2nd Night Stand begins for players on Friday, January 13 at 7pm. It performs for ONE NIGHT ONLY on Saturday, January 14 at 7pm at the White Plains Performing Arts Center, located on the third level of City Center off Mamaroneck Avenue in downtown White Plains.
