Green Day's explosive, Tony-winning musical AMERICAN IDIOT blasts into Irvington March 4th- March 13th. The electric-rock opera of youthful disillusion in a post 9/11 world is based on the band's powerhouse multi-platinum Grammy-Award winning album of the same name and includes tracks from "21st Century Breakdown".

Brought to life by the award-winning Clocktower Players, the show is woven together to tell a brilliantly choreographed story (courtesy of choreographer Josue Jasmin) of struggle against the boredom of suburbia, rebellion against the conservative establishment, and lack of general respect for the media and government. It is a rally cry of the youth of today who grew up in a time when the world and country as we knew it, was literally falling apart.

The cast of young rockers includes Alejandro Arturo, Kelmi Bermúdez, Emily Carlstrom, Kelsey Lane Dies, Michelle Doucet, Stephanie Genito, Seth Hale, Samantha Kahn, Jaye Thomas Nelson, Sean O'Shea, Ralph Puma, Danielle Roberts, Kevin Thompson, Genesis Val Leon, Terra Warman, Ashley Wool and Denis Adan Zepeda.

The band features Rivertowns musicians Miyuki Furtado, Eric Kaye, Parker Reilly, David Whitehead and Peter Wilson playing Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "21 Guns," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "Holiday" and the blockbuster title track "American Idiot". Artistic Director, Producer Cagle McDonald says, "This is definitely going to have an aggressive, alternative rock sound. This is the first time Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT is being performed in Westchester and it's a powerful cast of singers and musicians." The set, designed by the incomparable David Lovett, incorporates art work from Hastings resident Patrick McNeil, a Brooklyn-based artist, who along with PatRick Miller, are known as FAILE.

"We've configured the show for a smaller space - It's interesting and exciting because the audience is asked to focus more on the bones of the narrative and the relationships of the show," says director, musical director George Croom. "Of course, the music is there; Billie Joe Armstrong's lyrics read like poetry. As a band, Green Day has always filled it's lyrics with thoughts that provoke and question the very culture and fibers of our nation."

The two-time TONY Award-winning hit musical Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT boldly takes the American musical where it's never gone before. It's themes of rebellion and counter-culture transcend age, but whose current take on the world we live in, rings a crystal clear cry for change.
