Readings and Music in a Holiday Spirit is 20 years old! December 13 at 7pm-tickets still available.

Nyack Center will host its annual holiday festival and community gathering on Sunday, December 13, at 7PM. This year, as in years past there will be both Readings and Music in the Holiday Spirit, at this fun filled holiday extravaganza produced and hosted by Kevin Pariseau & Elliott Forrest. Event sponsored by Docuware. The evening will feature scores of local talent to include; Music from Steven Bernstein, Nyack High School Advanced Chorus, Cause Kidz and readings from Dennis Boutsikaris, Kevin Pariseau, Sakina Jaffrey and others with a special return appearance by Darrell Larson. The hottest ticket in town for the holidays will be ushered in with Sean Fleming-celtic rock musician.

"The Nyack Center is the 'center' of our community, both geographically and in our hearts. We assemble there to laugh, think, celebrate, cry and be the best of ourselves." Says Elliott Forrest, WQXR and WNYC radio personality. "I have produced dozens of shows there, some to raise money for the Center itself and others for ArtsRock, our non-profit in Rockland. Nothing is more gratifying than having those front doors open and see the community gather. I have one memory of a holiday show we created, only to have it snow so much the roads were almost impassable and we feared no one would come. Yet, one by one, people trudged through the snow to fill the place for an evening of shared joy."

Nyack Center was founded 25 years ago in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens and is housed in a renovated historic church in the heart of Nyack, NY. Nyack Center serves the Nyacks and the larger community of Rockland County by supporting children, youth and families through educational and recreational programs. This non-profit organization provides a welcoming gathering space for vital before-and-after school programs, cultural celebrations, and community events. Nyack Center more than just a community building; a place for building community.

This beloved annual event celebrates the holidays and puts the spotlight on local talent (often national celebrities) for the benefit of Nyack Center's community and youth programs. Bring family and friends and share the joy of the holiday season with neighbors performing for neighbors.
