PlayMakers Repertory Company will present the regional premiere of “Emma,” by award-winning playwright Kate Hamill, based on the novel by Jane Austen.
THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG might just be one of the funniest concepts to grace the stage of a theater in the past fifty years. The play, by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, and Jonathan Sayer, depicts a theater group putting on a performance of “The Murder at Haversham Manor” that goes disastrously wrong from its first minutes.
You could still smell the new paint in the newly refurbished theater during the opening night of Theatre Raleigh’s CITY OF ANGELS. It’s fitting that director and choreographer Lauren Kennedy Brady was fulfilling a dream of bringing this production to life while also debuting the company’s new theater.
Special Offer: DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE! to see CITY OF ANGELS at Theatre Raleigh

Theatre Raleigh is now accepting additional auditions for three of their upcoming 2022 Mainstage Season productions. Roles are still available for City of Angels, The Play That Goes Wrong, and Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812. If you previously auditioned for City of Angels or The Play That Goes Wrong, you are asked to refrain from submitting another audition. However, if you previously auditioned for Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812, it is highly encouraged that you submit another audition due to a new director taking over the production!
After their incredible 2021 season, Theatre Raleigh is already gearing up for their 2022 season with the announcement of the Main Stage lineup.
Theatre Raleigh is at 6638 Old Wake Forest Rd. Raleigh, NC 27616, Raleigh, NC.
Theatre Raleigh is professional, non-profit theatre company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. It grew out of the original “Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy” Series, begun in 2005 by K.D. Kennedy Jr. and his son, Michael Kennedy. The series operated out of the K.D. and Sara Lynn Kennedy Theatre, a 133-seat black box space around the back of the Duke Energy Center performing arts complex. In 2009, Lauren Kennedy Brady took over the series from her father and brother, building it into a year-round professional company that she renamed Theatre Raleigh. The organization officially incorporated as a nonprofit in 2013. Under Kennedy-Brady’s leadership, Theatre Raleigh has grown into one of the top theatre destinations in the Triangle, employing both local professionals and Broadway veterans. The company still continues its beloved Summer Series, but has expanded its programming to include a Family Series, a new works initiative, various concert events, and a number of educational components.
