Theatre Diaspora's WASHER/DRYER to Begin in May

MediaRites' Theatre Diaspora project's new season begins with an enhanced staged reading directed by company member Samson Syharath. Cast includes Anthony Lam, Sarika Mehta, Elaine Low, DMae Roberts and Mathew Sepeda.

Washer/Dryer by Nandita Shenoy, a comedy about a Chinese and Indian American inter-ethnic newlywed couple in a single-unit New York co-op apartment. The couple must navigate their marriage, a formidable mom, nosy co-op manager and an endearing gay best friend trying to resolve conflicts between everyone.

Performances are:

Sunday May 14th at 2:00pm at Portland Center Stage at the Armory (PCS - Ellen Bye Theatre) located at 128 NW 11th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209. A Skype talk with playwright Nandita Shenoy (featured in photos) will follow the May 14th performance.

Saturday, May 20th at 2:00pm, followed by a panel on affordable housing for young people.

Theatre Diaspora will also conduct a free introductory acting class on May 9th at APANO at 6:30-8:30pm to encourage people of color in theater.

Tickets are $10 for general, $5 for students/Oregon Trail cards. Advance ticket options coming soon!
