Portland Actors Conservatory will host the exclusive west coast premiere of This Random World. This new play asks the serious question of how often we travel parallel paths through the world without noticing.

From an ailing woman who plans one final trip, to her daughter planning one great escape and her son falling prey to a prank gone wrong, this funny, intimate, and heartbreaking play explores the lives that may be happening just out of reach of our own.

Beth Harper, Founder and Producing Artistic Director of the conservatory, will direct this comedy of missed connections. While looking for a season that would be custom picked for her students, Harper stumbled upon Dietz's play which was only recently produced at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in Louisville, Kentucky in 2016. Before the published script was even available to the public, Harper had obtained the rights to produce this serendipitous play. The cast will consist of conservatory students, Kathleen Worley of Reed College, and several surprise guest artists.

This Random World runs April 7-28, Thursday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. All performances take place at Portland Actors Conservatory's Firehouse Theatre, located at 1436 SW Montgomery St., Portland, Ore., 97201. Get tickets. Goldstar discounts, as well as senior citizens and students discounts are available. Call 503-274-1717 for more details.
