The Company of Pittsburgh has announced their first full season - featuring two Tony-nominated musicals and a host of professional, local Pittsburgh talent.
First up this spring is the Tony-Award winning musical Man of La Mancha. With a book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion and music by Mitch Leigh, this classic re-telling of Miguel Cervantes' novel "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha" will be directed by TEd Watts, Jr., at Off The Wall Theater in Carnegie, PA, from May 30th through June 8th.
The Company's autumn production brings recent Broadway favorite [title of show], which chronicles the trials of self-expression of two nobodies, named Hunter and Jeff, who decide to write a completely original musical starring themselves and their two talented actress friends, Susan and Heidi. This witty new musical celebrates the sometimes bittersweet process of productive creativity. [title of show], with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen, and a Tony-nominated book by Hunter Bell, will be directed by Nick Mitchell. The show will run from November 7th through November 16th at The Grey Box Theatre in Lawrenceville, PA.
John Allen Biles, Founding Artistic Director, had this to share about the season: "We're thrilled to present two fabulous works from different musical theater eras that both tell stories of men and women thinking big and overcoming astounding odds to achieve their dreams. We call our season 'Dreaming Impossible Dreams' because in both stories, it is the daring ventures of our characters that make us root for them."
