Luna Theater Company is becoming THE LUNA THEATER! Through participation with the "Partners for Sacred Places" program, the Luna has found its new home and partner: The Church of the Crucifixion at 620 S. 8th Street (8th and Bainbridge). While negotiations are far from over, Luna Theater is currently laying the groundwork for a long-term lease for exclusive and shared sections of the building.

To make its dream become a reality, the Luna Theater Company is holding a "Build Our Theater - Open House Kick-Off Party" on Monday, December 3rd at 6:30pm at its new home, The Church of the Crucifixion's Parish House at 620 S. 8th Street in Philadelphia. This free evening is open to Luna's patrons, the press and invited members of the Philadelphia theatrical community. The evening will begin with a staged reading and will be followed by a catered reception and tour!

Now in its 11th season, The Luna Theater Company is dedicated to intimate, intelligent, and intense work that delves into the human psyche. The Luna is the destination for today’s provocative voices, with a love for the darkly tragi-comic.

Its first 8 seasons were produced in the Walnut Street Theater's Studios and its last three in the Adrienne Theater at 2030 Sansom St. With the move into the Church of the Crucifixion's Parish House, the Luna is excited to have finally found its permanent artistic home.

The Luna Theater has twice been honored with Philadelphia Weekly's 'Play of the Year' - "Grace" by Craig Wright (2008) and "Blasted" by Sarah Kane (2011).
