The St. Louis County Library Foundation's 'Buzz' Westfall Favorite Author Series presents bestselling historian A. Scott Berg for a discussion and signing of his new biography 'Wilson' today, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters (1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.) The program is free and open to the public. Michigan's longest running, award winning, non-profit, professional theatre, the Detroit Repertory Theatre, will hold its Annual Black Tie Awards Night and Homecoming Celebration on Saturday Evening, November 16, 2013 at 6:30 PM. The Annual Black Tie Awards Night is the Annual Major Fundraiser for the Detroit Repertory Theatre.

In Richie's Fantastic Five: Kurosawa, Mizoguchi, Ozu, Yanagimachi & Kore-eda, Japan Society's Film Program honors Richie's legacy, presenting five timeless classics and hard-to-see gems over five months in glorious 35mm presentations. Curated by Hirano, a former Japan Society Film Program Director, the series highlights five seminal Japanese directors, who first became known throughout the world through Richie's work. Co-presented with The Japan Foundation, the series launches with Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (October 18); continuing with Kenji Mizoguchi's The Life of Oharu(November 16); Yasujiro Ozu's Equinox Flower (December 12), screening on Ozu's birthday and the 50th anniversary of his death; Mitsuo Yanagimachi's Himatsuri (January 24), unavailable on DVD; and Hirokazu Kore-eda's After Life (February 19), marking the one-year anniversary of Richie's death.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio, who's just coming off of Baz Luhrmaan's THE GREAT GATSBY, is set to produce and star in the film adaptation of Peter Berg's recently released biography, titled WILSON. Variety first reported the rumor yesterday, but THR has confirmed that DiCaprio's deal is done, and that the film will move forward once Warner Bros. signs on.

The Detroit Repertory Theatre's 2013/2014 Season will have a Champagne Opening and Celebration on November 07, 2013. The highlight of this 57th Opening Night at the Rep will be the Midwest Premiere comedy A FACILITY FOR LIVING by Katie Forgette. The rest of the season are all World Premiere plays that span a range of issues: a powerful story about the changing music scene in the 1960's in America as a metaphor for the race riots happening at the time; a mystery about 3 Cherokee 'blood brothers'; and finally a twisted comical romp about a professor who meets a student who has taken his teachings about animal rights literally.
