According to Deadline, the network has given VERONICA MARS creator Rob Thomas the go-ahead to develop a pilot script based upon Victor Hugo's classic novel turned Broadway show. The project comes from Warner Bros TV with a penalty.

Sierra Repertory Theatre celebrates its 35th Anniversary with what SRT artistic director Scott Viets called 'one of the most exciting and ambitious seasons in our entire history.' Commencing with the international sensation Les Miserables, the 2014 season will include eight plays and musicals - three shows with live music, a sequel to last year's Church Basement Ladies, an Arthur Miller drama, a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic and a new musical comedy about contestants at a spelling bee. Season tickets go on sale September 1, and general admission tickets go on sale October 1.

Nashville Symphony announces the addition of two movie nights to its October concert schedule. First up is a screening of the 1942 classic Casablanca, featuring a live performance of the score by the Nashville Symphony. Then, just in time for Halloween, organist Peter Krasinski will accompany the 1923 silent film version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Following the success of the 2012 Academy Award winning film adaptation, (starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway) Music Theatre International released the performance rights for the musical to be licensed to companies nationwide.
