THE AMATEURS Comes to Olney Theatre Center

The Amateurs by Jordan Harrison and directed by Jason King Jones runs in Olney Theatre Center's Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab, March 4 - April 5, 2020. The production is the fifth show in Olney Theatre's 2019-2020 season and the final show to perform in the Theatre Lab before it closes for renovations, scheduled to re-open in November 2020. OTC regulars Evan Casey (On the Town), James Konicek (Dial 'M' For Murder), Michael Russotto (Singin' in the Rain), Emily Townley (Ken Ludwig's A Comedy of Tenors) and Rachel Zampelli (The Crucible) are joined by Shakespeare Theatre Company veteran John Keabler (Hotspur in Henry IV, part I). Opening night is Saturday, March 7 at 7:45pm.

Acclaimed actress, comedian, writer and activist Fran Drescher makes her Café Carlyle debut, June 16 a?" 20. The Queens native has received two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as the lovable Miss Fine on the CBS hit series The Nanny, a show she also created, wrote, directed and executive produced. Fran's next sitcom was based off of her real life relationship with her gay ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson -- a show she also produced, created, and starred in called Happily Divorced. Currently, she is starring in NBC's new sitcom Indebted where she plays a baby boomer gone broke who has to move in with her adult son and his young family. An accomplished film actress, she's won Esquire's Five Minute Oscar for her memorable performance in the mockumentary, This Is Spinal Tap. She has co-starred in countless films throughout her career with the likes of Robin Williams, Dan Aykroyd, Tim Robbins and Billy Crystal, not to mention such esteemed directors as Rob Reiner, Milos Forman and Francis Ford Coppola. Directed and co-written by Academy Award-winning Tim Robbins (Mystic River, Dead Man Walking, The Shawshank Redemption), THE NEW COLOSSUS will play a limited tour and visit cities such as Charlotte, NC (Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2020 - Knight Theater), Detroit, MI (Feb. 14-16, 2020 - Music Hall), Seattle, WA (Feb. 20-22, 2020 - Moore Theatre), Nashville, TN (April 9-11, 2020 - James K. Polk Theater) and others. A list of announced tour dates for the 2019-2020 season is below. Casting will be announced later.
