    The Group Theatre Too (GTT) presents its seventh annual Choreographer's Canvas, a one- night event featuring the works of over fifteen established and emerging choreographers from around the country. The Canvas, headed by GTT Executive Producer Justin Boccitto, will play at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center Friday, May 2nd and showcase many styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, theatre dance, aerial and this year bellydancing. For the past 6 years the Canvas has presented over 75 choreographers, giving opportunity to over 500 dancers performing to sold-out houses. The event is sponsored by Broadway Dance Center, Capezio, Manhattan Movement and the Society of Directors and Choreographers as well as numerous arts philanthropists. (more...)

Performer, Daryl Taylor-Hazel brings his Florida musical act to New York City's premier cabaret theater, Stage 72 at The Triad on March 14th, at 7PM, Daryl's act, that's been called a 'zippy, entertaining show' features scads of popular songs made famous by singing television variety show hosts during the golden era of TV.     On the heals of their acclaimed productions of 1931- and Success Story, The ReGroup turns its attention to The Group Theatre's very first play, Paul Green's The House of Connelly. Presented with special permission and support of the Paul Green Foundation, this poetic tale of the last dying gasps of the Old South trying to prevent progress of new ideas gets a much overdue NY revival. Wayward son Will Connelly, heir to the famous Connelly estate finds himself unable to live up to the prestige of the legendary Connelly's of the past. When a new tenant farmer arrives with his daughter Patsy, is it love at first site or does she have her calculating eyes on becoming the new Mrs. Connelly? The struggle between tradition and change, black and white and truth versus secrets come to a shocking conclusion. Though the Group made Mr. Green rewrite the ending to make it more hopeful, the ReGroup will be presenting Mr. Green's original ending. It is sure to be jaw dropping even after 80 years. (more...)

    Husband-Wife Team Wins TPS' 2013 Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award; Ceremony Set for Today

    Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) has announced husband and wife team, John Kazanjian and Mary Ewald as the 2013 recipients of the Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. The committee of prior recipients has made this selection to honor their dedication to the Seattle theatre community, much of it through their efforts with The New City Theatre. This award along with 17 others will be presented at the 5th Annual Gregory Awards being held at The Neptune Theatre today, October 28, 2013 at 7:30pm. (more...)
