Holly Twyford and Luigi Sottile to Star in Signature Theatre's SEX WITH STRANGERS This Fall in D.C.

This fall, Signature Theatre continues its commitment to presenting bold new contemporary plays with the DC area premiere of Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason. After its New York premiere at Second Stage Theatre this summer, Signature is proud to introduce this play to DC audiences. Running October 14 - December 7, Sex with Strangers will be presented in Signature's intimate 110-seat ARK Theatre.

CSULB's Theatre Department to Present MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, 10/3-12

The CSULB Theatre Arts Department's University Players open the 2014-2015 season with Merrily We Roll Along, with book by George Furth and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, running October 3rd through 12th in the Studio Theatre. Based on Kaufman and Hart's eponymous play, Merrily We Roll Along tells the story, in reverse chronological order, of the life of successful Hollywood mogul Franklin Shepard.

Theatre Esprit Asia's M. BUTTERFLY Opens Tonight

As the recipient of four awards, to include Westword's "Best of 2014: Specialty Theatre Group" and John Moore's "2013 True West Special Award", Theatre Esprit Asia proved a successful inaugural season with a bright future in Denver's theatre scene. Much has happened since the close of their first year with an addition to the artistic team, collaborations with other theatre groups and a change in venue.

Long Beach Playhouse to Present TWELFTH NIGHT

Twelfth Night is Shakespeare's most popular play and one of his greatest comedies. Written in 1601, it takes place in the mythical land of Illyria. Twins Viola and Sebastian go down in a shipwreck. Believing her brother is dead Viola dresses up as a man and takes the name Cesario. Viola/Cesario becomes the confidante of Orsino, Illyria's duke. Orsino sends Viola/Cesario to woo Olivia. But Viola/Cesario is now in love with Orsino. Adding to the comedic confusion are Viola's brother Sebastian, Feste the Clown, the drunken Sir Toby Belch, the foolish Aquecheek and the conniving Malvolio.

PFP to Stage Jeff Talbott's THE SUBMISSION, 10/12-11/25

Pride Films and Plays will follow up its sold-out Jeff Recommended run of Terrence McNally's Some Men with the Chicago premiere of The Submission by Jeff Talbott, winner of the 2011 Laurent's/Hatcher Award and the Outer Circle's John Gassner Award for Best New Play in 2012. Soho Rep. and The Play Company, in association with John Adrian Selzer, announce casting and the creative team for the U.S. premiere of debbie tucker green's generations. The production, September 30-October 26, reunites the playwright with director Leah C. Gardiner, who worked together on the OBIE Award-winning 2011 production of born bad. generations features a 12-person community chorus led by music director Bongi Duma (The Lion King). The cast includes Shyko Amos (An Octoroon), Mamoudou Athie, Khail Toi Bryant (The Lion King), Ntombikhona Dlamini (Sarafina!), Thuli Dumakude (The Lion King, Poppie Nongena), Jonathan Peck (The Lion in Winter) and Michael Rogers (born bad, Breakfast With Mugabe).

DELIVERANCE Stage Adaptation to Premiere at 59E59 Theaters, 10/10-11/9

59E59 Theaters will welcome Godlight Theatre Company with the world premiere of James Dickey's DELIVERANCE, based on his acclaimed novel, adapted by Sean Tyler, directed by Joe Tantalo. DELIVERANCE begins performances on Friday, October 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 9. Press opening is Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Please note, there is no performance on Sunday, October 19, and an added performance on Sunday, October 12 at 7:30 PM.
