Opening Night of the UCLA Film & Television Archive Film Series: 'CHAMPION: THE STANLEY KRAMER CENTENNIAL' is set for Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Billy Wilder Theater, 10899 Wilshire Boulevard (at the corner of Westwood Boulevard), Los Angeles, Calif.

EXTANT is a futuristic thriller about a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space. Her experiences lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history.

Deadline confirmed the acclaimed director's departure this afternoon, citing that 'Spielberg couldn't square his vision of this movie with the budget.' DreamWorks will also exit the project.

After recently announcing over 200 hours of original programming, Ovation, America's only arts network, has additionally acquired all episodes of critically acclaimed series SMASH from NBCUniversal Cable & New Media. Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's 'Pay What You Want' Company, has announced their next production, A Bright Room Called Day by Tony Kushner, directed by Coeurage Artistic Director Jeremy Lelliott. There will be two preview performances on Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday, August 17 at 8pm. A Bright Room Called Day will play through September 15 only at The Lost Studio on S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles.
