Producers of OSCAR at The Crown announced today the release of the original concept album featuring the music of the wildly popular immersive nightclub musical now playing at 3 Dollar Bill (260 Meserole Street, Brooklyn, NY). The album, which was produced by and features music and lyrics by Andrew Barret Cox, is now available on all digital music providers.

Favorites of stage and screen took to the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center last night to help The 24 Hour Plays mark its 24th anniversary with an intimate production of The 24 Hour Musicals. Erich Bergen, Jessica Hecht, Alex Moffat, Bonnie Milligan and Anthony Rapp were just a few of the exceptional group of artists who joined forces to write, compose, direct and perform four original musicals within 24 hours.

OSCAR at The Crown, a new immersive nightclub musical, will celebrate its official opening night tonight, Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 3 Dollar Bill (260 Meserole Street, Brooklyn, NY). From the minds of performance collective, The Neon Coven, OSCAR at The Crown was created by Mark Mauriello, features music and choreography by Andrew Barret Cox, and direction by Shira Milikowsky. The immersive musical returns for an open-ended run after a sold out and critically acclaimed run January February.

Applications Now Open For Art House's Inaugural INKubator Writing Group

For the first time, Art House will be cultivating a group of playwrights as part of the INKubator program's new play development initiative. Selected playwrights will meet on a monthly basis between October 2018 and May 2019 to share their work and further the growth of a specific piece that each playwright is developing. Alex Tobey, resident director of the program, will be joined by special guests each month (playwrights, directors, dramaturgs, literary managers) who will moderate conversations focused on peer feedback, guidance, and personalized support for each playwright's individual process. In the spring, each writer will team up with a professional director to present a public reading or workshop performance as a part of the new annual Jersey City Spring Festival of New Plays.

Early on the morning of November 19, Donald Trump took to Twitter (as he has a tendency to do) to make the assertion that "The Theater must always be a safe and special place."
On December 19, one month to the day after Trump's Broadway-fueled Twitter deluge, Liz Meriwether and Shira Milikowsky put on A SAFE AND SPECIAL PLACE, an evening of works written and performed by some of the theater's best and most promising talents. The event, held within the atmospheric walls of the McKittrick Hotel and which benefited The Trevor Project and Kids in Need of Defense was, as you could guess, anything but what Trump would deem "safe and special."

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center presents World Voices: International Play Festival 2016. As part of the 2016 PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, the Segal Center will showcase play readings by eight of the world's most respected dramatists. With each writer hailing from a different world region as classified by the United Nations, the International Play Festival generates a conversation on art, politics, dreams, war, and philosophy, meant to give American audiences a rich awareness of the greater global dialogue. All readings will be followed by discussion with the playwright.

A signature feature of the National Theater Institute, weekly Theater Labs challenge students to put all the skills gained in classes into practice. When given just 15 hours to stage a scene, students learn to trust their creative instincts. Under the mentorship of a professional director, NTI students gain practical experience with a wealth of classical and contemporary texts as well as have the opportunity to work as actor, director, designer, and/or dramaturge each week.
