Bay Street Players Presents DINNER WITH FRIENDS, 4/29-5/13

The Marsh presents Charlie Varon & Jeri Lynn Cohen's FWD: Life Gone Viral, coming back April 19, 2012! FWD: LIFE GONE VIRAL is a comedy that skewers the brave new world of Internet exhibitionism. Cohen and Varon play an oncologist, her patient, their ex-spouses and an expert commentator each. Marriage, divorce, child-rearing, terminal illness, transmogrified flies and beef jerky all find their way into the play.

Laura Osnes & Santino Fontana Set to Lead Broadway-Bound CINDERELLA

Laura Osnes will play Cinderella and Santino Fontana will portray the Prince in the new Broadway-bound production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, it has been announced by the musical's producers. CINDERELLA -- which is aiming for a Broadway opening during the 2012-13 season -- is produced by Robyn Goodman, Stephen Kocis and Jill Furman in association with Center Theatre Group.

Tony Award-winning ensemble member Frank Galati returns to the helm at Steppenwolf Theatre Company with his stage adaptation of The March, Pulitzer Prize-finalist E.L. Doctorow's novel about General William Tecumseh Sherman's Civil War march through Georgia. This marks Galati's Second Stage production of a Doctorow novel, following the highly-acclaimed musical Ragtime (1998). The much-anticipated production features a cast of 26 playing a mix of fictional and historical characters. The March begins previews April 5 (Opening Night is April 15; Press Performances are April 14 at 3pm and April 17 at 7:30pm) and runs through June 10, 2012 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Theatricum Botanicum's 2012 Summer Repertory Season will present four plays in repertory on its mainstage: Measure for Measure and A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare; Heartbreak House by George Bernard Shaw; and The Women of Lockerbie by Deborah Brevoort. In addition, Cherry Docs by David Gow will get six performances in Theatricum's intimate second performance space.

Flashpoint Theatre Company is closing its season with the World Premiere of Jacqueline Pardue Goldfinger's Slip/Shot. Goldfinger has emerged as a playwright in the region, with her World Premieres of the terrible girls (Azuka Theatre, 2010) and Hershel & The Hanukkah Goblins (Gas & Electric Arts, 2011). Slip/Shot will run from April 11 to May 5 at the Adrienne's Second Stage, located at 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA.
