Steps Beyond Foundation Announces Shows at NYLA

The Steps Beyond Foundation, Steps on Broadway's non-profit arm which connects artists and community through dialogue, performance, and artistic collaboration, will present two dynamic evenings of dance, June 1-2, at New York Live Arts. Moving Pieces,a benefit performance, will raise funds for their Performance Lab Series and Artists Talks, dance scholarships and community programs at the Hudson Guild and Henry Street Settlement.

Boston Ballet School Presents Next Generation, June 6

Boston Ballet School (BBS) proudly presents its ninth annual Next Generation performance featuring Christopher Wheeldon's The American, Act III of Raymonda by Marius Petipa with additional choreography by Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen, and a new work by BBS faculty member Igor Burlak. The program opens with Les Passages, which features dancers of all levels of the Pre-Professional program in pieces choreographed by BBS faculty members. This one-night-only performance takes place June 6 at the Boston Opera House.

The tour will go on to play more than 60 cities including Los Angeles, CA (The Ahmanson); Denver, CO (Buell Theatre); San Francisco, CA (Golden Gate Theatre); Vancouver, BC (Queen Elizabeth); Calgary, AB (Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium); Orlando, FL (Dr. Phillips Center); Cleveland, OH (Connor Palace); Ottawa, ON (National Art Centre) and many more across the United States and Canada.

Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that tells the story of the final week in the life of Jesus Christ. It begins with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ends with the crucifixion. It also highlights the political and interpersonal struggles between Jesus and one of his 12 apostles, Judas Iscariot that are not present in the Bible narratives.

The Wooster Group will open their newest piece, A PINK CHAIR (In Place of a Fake Antique) at The Performing Garage (33 Wooster Street) in New York City, with performances from April 28 through May 19, with press opening on Wednesday, May 9. Ahead of its second birthday in the West End this spring, the critically acclaimed and Olivier Award-nominated The Comedy About A Bank Robbery announces a new company. After a year of good behaviour at the Criterion the second company have been released on parole, with a new band of inmates starting performances from 27 February. Joining the cast are Samson Ajewole (Cooper), Jenna Augen (Ruth Monaghan), Jack Baldwin (Officer Shuck), Leonard Cook (Robin Freeboys), Matt Douglas-Hunt (Mitch Ruscitti) and Peter McGovern (Warren Slax). Continuing their roles as the bars-crossed lovers are Samuel Fogell (Sam Monaghan) and Holly Sumpton (Caprice Freeboys), and literally completing the cast is Chris Leask (Everyone Else).
