Bitingly relevant, and radically entertaining, Dion Boucicault's THE POOR OF NEW YORK opens at The Connelly Theater in the East Village, tonight, April 24, 2013. Tyne Rafaeli will direct a rip-roaring Columbia Stages production featuring a cast of 25, and 8 live musicians.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced that three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston will play the lead role of Lyndon Baines Johnson in Robert Schenkkan's new play All The Way opening the A.R.T.'s 2013-14 Season at the Loeb Drama Center. The production, directed by Bill Rauch, will begin performances on September 13, 2013.

Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Director) will present the world premiere of Eduardo Machado's play Mariquitas, directed by Michael Domitrovich, beginning April 27th and continuing through May 19th only. Opening Night is set for Sunday May 5th (7pm).

The historical Paul Robeson Theater in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn is opening its doors again for a limited benefit production of Cowboy Mouth by Sam Shepherd and Patti Smith. Directed by Mark Gallagher and featuring Lisa Jill Anderson, Cory Michael Kosel and Marco de Ornello, this three-day-only benefit production hosted by Stable Cable Lab Co. will raise money to restore the historical Paul Robeson Theater.

Category 7 in association with La Salle Academy and Nativity Mission announces the cast and creative team for Stand-Up Tragedy, Bill Cain's searing 1991 play about a Lower East Side middle school, where an idealistic young teacher sets out to save one of his students from an abusive family and the streets. Directed by Nicholas Minas, performances begin at Nativity Church (44 2nd Avenue - between 2nd & 3rd Streets) tonight, April 12, 2013 and will continue through May 4.

The Ruckus Theater announces casting for the world premiere of Facing Angela starting June 29 at The Athenaeum Theatre (2936 N. Southport) in Chicago's Lake View neighborhood. First written ten years ago and re-imagined through a recent workshop with The Ruckus, Facing Angela is written by Season 4 featured playwright Scott T. Barsotti and is directed by Kyra Lewandowski.
