10th Anniversary SF Latino Film Festival Kicks Off Friday!

Cine+Mas SF is proud to announce the 10th anniversary of the San Francisco Latino Film Festival, opening September 14th through the 30th at various locations throughout SF and the Bay Area. The SFLFF program includes award winning and critically acclaimed documentary, feature and short films from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and the USA. Local and visiting filmmakers from around the country and Latin America will be in attendance.

The New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF), the nation's largest and most diverse Latino film festival, and a touchstone of the nation's thriving multicultural cinematic movement, kicks off its 15th edition today, August 22nd with the New York premiere of the film “Ruben Blades Is Not My Name.” Directed by critically acclaimed director, Abner Benaim, the film stars Ruben Blades, Sting, Paul Simon, Residente, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Larry Harlow, Andy Montañez, Ismael Miranda, Junot Diaz, Luba Mason, among others. The star-studded documentary offers an intimate portrait of Ruben Blades, revealing the artist's struggle to come to terms with his legacy and influence in elevating Salsa music to an international scale.

CineFestival Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and CineFestival are excited to announce the 2018 Premios Mesquite winners, the Third Annual Ya'Ke Smith Filmmaker Award, master classes for directors, a free punk rock show featuring Fantástico and the official list of CineFestival after parties and receptions.  The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) will also present the inaugural NALAC Fund for the Arts Adán Medrano Legacy Award in Film.
