Rona Munro explores the ramifications of the - then alleged, now confirmed - rape of Mary, Queen of Scots under the warped lens of the political games for which it was a useful tool. Mary is the last companion piece to Munro’s The James Plays cycle. It introduces the intriguing, malicious hearsay and delivers it with jarring misogyny, moulding political enterprise and gossip seamlessly. She juxtaposes blind allegiance to popular opinion, perception to truth.

The weather might be cooling, but the West End is heating up. October's theatrical offerings provide an embarassment of riches, with some fantastic shows coming up: from David Tennant as the lead in C.P. Taylor's acclaimed play GOOD to Carrie Hope Fletcher in The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Rose, to Juliet Stevenson in The Doctor and Elton's John's new musical Tammy Faye.

Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling's cultural hub, will present an Autumn season with brings new perspectives into the light to entertain and delight audiences of all ages and interests.

A new production of Bold Girls by Rona Munro will open on 24th September in Cumbernauld. The play is being produced in-house at Cumbernauld Theatre Trust's new home at Lanternhouse, a state-of-the-art performing arts centre based at Cumbernauld Community Campus.

The Autumn/Winter season runs from late August to February 2023 and is packed with leading theatre, music and comedy to suit all ages and tastes. The programme includes works from Cumbernauld Theatre Trust's autumn and winter in-house productions, visiting companies, new partnerships and cinema screenings. 

Audiences are at the heart of this season's programme, with bold new adaptations of big-name classics like The Steamie and Cinderella joining returning favourites including Joan Clevillé's powerful reimagining of the Greek tragedy in Antigone, Interrupted and last year's sell-out sensation, Smile.

As previously announced, in autumn 2022 Rona Munro returns to Scottish stages with a bold new production:  James IV – Queen of the Fight, directed by Laurie Sansom - the formidable duo who brought us James I, II and III.

Manhattan Theatre Club announced the lineup for the 2022 Ted Snowdon Reading Series. The readings kick off Monday, March 14 and will be held on Mondays through March 28. The readings will take place at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street). All readings are free and open to the public, but space is limited and RSVPs are required.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced a robust slate of playwright commissions through Manhattan Theatre Club's new partnership with the Edgerton Foundation, as well as a new round of commissions supported by ongoing partnerships with Bobbie Olsen and other donors.
