Music's Biggest Night just got a whole lot bigger, as a fresh batch of artists have been added to the already stellar lineup for the 61st GRAMMY Awards. Current nominees Chloe x Halle, GRAMMY winner Lady Gaga, GRAMMY winner Mark Ronson, and GRAMMY nominee Travis Scott are set to perform on Music's Biggest Night. Additionally, current nominee Dua Lipa will perform with GRAMMY winner St. Vincent. In what is sure to be a GRAMMY Moment to remember, GRAMMY winners Yolanda Adams, Fantasia, and past GRAMMY nominee Andra Day will honor the legendary Aretha Franklin.

The Recording Academy has expanded its lineup for the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards® with a special tribute to eight-time GRAMMY® winner and 2019 MusiCares® Person of the Year Dolly Parton. Making her return to the GRAMMY stage for the first time since 2001, Parton will perform new music from her hit album Dumplin' (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). Dolly's special tribute segment will also feature her classic hits sung by Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, and Katy Perry. Additionally, current GRAMMY nominees J Balvin and Young Thug, and GRAMMY winners Ricky Martin and Arturo Sandoval, will join Camila Cabello for an explosive show opener. They join previously announced performers Cardi B, Brandi Carlile, Dan + Shay, H.E.R., Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, Musgraves, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Diana Ross. Live from STAPLES Center, and hosted by Alicia Keys, the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.

My mind kept turning these quotes over after I saw Riverside Theatre's spectacular production of Andrew Lloyd Weber and Time Rice's EVITA, running through Sunday, Jan. 27 in Vero Beach. With its supremely talented cast, phenomenal production values, and shining star, there is no doubt that the musical is engaging. So, in that respect - at least by Albee's definition - the production is political. However, I couldn't help but feel as though the inherent politics had been boiled out of this EVITA. That certainly didn't hamper my enjoyment or appreciation for the production, but it did leave me thinking that perhaps the very point of the show had been missed.

Award-winning, internationally acclaimed Atlantic Records a cappella group STRAIGHT NO CHASER has today announced a new string of East Coast and Midwest shows added to their North American "One Shot Tour." After closing 2018 with nearly five months of touring in support of their seventh studio album One Shot, the guys are back on the road this spring for another run of live performances. The dates kick off on April 23 at Columbia, MO's Jesse Auditorium and culminate on Sunday, May 5 at 3P at the venerable Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI.  

The CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), an innovative residency program for New York City choreographers, celebrates its fifth anniversary with a series of performances this spring. Co-presented with Baruch Performing Arts Center, the 5th Year Fest will feature works by 11 artists/companies in two separate programs that exemplify the diversity of dance styles, perspectives, and cultural expressions that has come through CDI's doors. Lead funding for CDI's 5th Year Fest is generously provided by the Howard Gilman Foundation, with additional support from the Mertz Gilmore Foundation.

Producers Anita Greenspan and Tony Hawk with Executive producer Adam Zotovich announced today that a new musical adaptation of the 2007 Nick Hornby novel, SLAM, is in development. This new project will feature a book by Tony Award Nominee Kyle Jarrow (SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical) with music and lyrics by Mark Mothersbaugh (prolific film composer, co-founder of new wave band Devo). Pro-skater Tony Hawk, who is featured as a character in the novel, is a producer on the project and is slated to develop skate choreography.

Fertility Fest, the only arts festival devoted entirely to the subject of the science of making babies and modern families, is now in its third year. This latest, expanded edition of Fertility Fest runs from 23 April - 18 May and is presented in association with the Barbican as part of the 2019 season, Life Rewired, exploring what it means to be human when technology is changing everything.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced today the star-studded line up of presenters who will take the stage during the 24th Annual Critics' Choice Awards.  Previous #SeeHer Award recipient Viola Davis will present this year's honoree, Claire Foy, with her #SeeHer Award.  The cast of “The Big Bang Theory,” including Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Jim Parsons, and Melissa Rauch will be on hand to recognize show creator Chuck Lorre with the Critics' Choice Creative Achievement Award, just in time to celebrate the show's final season.  Additional stars from some of this year's favorite films and television shows who will present throughout the evening include Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Nina Dobrev, Winston Duke, America Ferrera, Sara Gilbert, Josh Hutcherson, Stephan James, Jameela Jamil, Nicole Kidman, Joel Kinnaman, KiKi Layne, Eugene Levy, Justina Machado, Ricky Martin, Jeanine Mason, Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, Olivia Munn, Catherine O'Hara, Edgar Ramirez, Haley Lu Richardson, Sarah Silverman, Cole Sprouse, Ben Stiller, and Bradley Whitford.  They all join previously announced host Taye Diggs.

Critically lauded, Indian born world musician Falu (aka Falguni Shah) has scored her first GRAMMY® nomination in Best Children's Album for her latest album, Falu's Bazaar. Falu's Bazaar was inspired by her desire to address her son's fascination with their cultural values and customs, exploring Indian culture through song, and celebrating the instruments, languages, sights, and humanity of a diverse world. On Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., three vibrant New York City-based artists will perform in Zankel Hall as part of My City, My Song, an interactive Family Concert celebrating music from around the world. The performance features Greek folk from Magda Giannikou, Malian traditional music from Yacouba Sissoko, and Indian classical music from Falu Shah. Free pre-concert activities are offered one hour prior to each performance, preparing parents and children to sing and dance along with the artists.

A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS – THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY will be broadcast Friday, Dec. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Host LL COOL J will introduce inspirational stories about children adopted from foster care, and Gwen Stefani, Train and Lukas Graham will each perform. It wasn't the Country Music Awards or Grammy Awards at the new Birdland Theater last night but it sure seemed like it. An overflow audience for the Victoria Shaw concert got a surprise as Victoria called up two of her friends who were in the audience……..Desmond Child, and then Kristin Chenoweth each sang a number. Even Jim Caruso who has hosted every famous person on the planet whipped out his cell phone camera for this one.
