AVENUE Q became an overnight sensation on Broadway in July 2003 following a sold-out engagement and was extended four times after being presented Off-Broadway by Vineyard Theatre and The New Group. Since it roared into the spotlight - with its singular cast of people and puppets including Princeton, Kate Monster, Rod, Nicky, Trekkie, Christmas Eve, Gary Coleman and Lucy T. Slut - opening on Broadway on July 31, 2003, AVENUE Q has given over 6,000 performances, running seven years on Broadway before transferring to New World Stages in 2009, where it continues to play to large and happy houses.

AVENUE Q original cast members Jennifer Barnhart, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Rick Lyon & John Tartaglia will join current cast members for a special 15th anniversary celebration talk-back following the Saturday, July 28 matinee performance.

In celebration of the Broadway musical's 15th anniversary, the cast of "Avenue Q" hits the plaza to sing a special a capella song they prepared just for TODAY.

AVENUE Q is celebrating its 15th anniversary with two weeks of special unique performances at New World Stages as members of the musical's legendary original Broadway company and other AVENUE Q alumni return to perform beginning tonight with Jordan Gelber (Brian, 2003-09) & Ann Harada (Christmas Eve, 2003-09) and additional alumni continuing through Sunday, July 29, 2018.

AVENUE Q will mark its 15th anniversary with two weeks of special unique performances at New World Stages from Monday, July 16 to Sunday, July 29, 2018. Each of the special anniversary shows will feature audience giveaways and a different surprise number in the show by members of the musical's legendary original Broadway company and other AVENUE Q alumni. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Avenue Q is the winner of the highly coveted and rarely achieved Tony Award 'Triple Crown' - winning Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.

Blackfriars Theatre is thrilled to present the 2018-2019 artistic season. The 2017-2018 season saw record growth and momentum under current Artistic & Managing Director, Danny Hoskins. Over 1500 Rochester residents attended the holiday production of Little Women, The Musical, Broadway's Rick Lyon will bring the original Broadway puppets to the theatre's upcoming production of Avenue Q, and for the first time in the theatre's 68-year history Blackfriars has added a third full time staff member.

AVENUE Q - the Tony Award-winning Best Musical that features a cast comprised of people and puppets - will celebrate WORLD PUPPETRY DAY on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 with what is to be an unprecedented large gathering of professional and amateur puppeteers and their puppets for a special performance and post-show soiree at New World Stages (Off-Broadway, 340 West 50th Street), starting at 8:00PM.

Blackfriars Theatre is thrilled to welcome Broadway's Rick Lyon to the creative process for their upcoming May production of the Tony-winning musical, Avenue Q. Mr. Lyon, who originated the role of Trekkie Monster/Nikkie in Avenue Q in the New York production, will join the Blackfriars cast for three days of puppeteering workshops. In addition, Mr. Lyon will be accompanied by the Broadway puppets, who will remain in residence at Blackfriars for the entire run of Avenue Q. That's right - Blackfriars Theatre will have the Broadway cast… well, the stuffed ones, that is.
