The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories for the 33rd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be presented on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST.  This year's event will be hosted by actors Laura Benanti and Jason Jones and will once again serve as a benefit for The Actors Fund.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) today announced that Tony Award-winning performers Ben Platt (DEAR EVAN HANSEN), Rachel Bay Jones (DEAR EVAN HANSEN) and Laura Benanti (GYPSY); Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken; multiple Grammy and Academy Award-winning songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez (FROZEN, COCO) and double E.G.O.T.-winning songwriter Robert Lopez (FROZEN, COCO, AVENUE Q, BOOK OF MORMON); along with acclaimed soprano Renee Fleming (currently appearing on Broadway in CAROUSEL), will take the stage at the Hudson Theatre to toast the life and work of one of American theatre's greatest living composers, Stephen Schwartz, on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7pm EST. The star-filled concert, sponsored in part by the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) and the Hudson Theatre, will showcase and shine a spotlight on Schwartz's beloved songs, stories, and legacy in celebration of his 70th Birthday.

Kyle Harris Joins New CBS Pilot GOD FRIENDED ME

STITCHERS star Kyle Harris has joined the cast of Greg Berlanti's CBS pilot 'God Friended Me,' Entertainment Tonight reports. Harris will appear as a guest in the pilot in the role of Eli James.  'God Friended Me' is a comedy series about an outspoken atheist, played by Brandon Micheal Hall, whose life is turned upside down when God friends him on Facebook. DEAR EVAN HANSEN star Rachel Bay Jones has joined the cast of Greg Berlanti's CBS pilot 'God Friended Me,' Variety has learned exclusively. Jones will appear as a guest in the pilot and will join the cast in a recurring role, should the series move forward. 'God Friended Me' is a comedy series about an outspoken atheist, played by Brandon Micheal Hall, whose life is turned upside down when God friends him on Facebook. Jones will play Susan, whose past is involved with the investigation into God's account.
