theMART, with the City of Chicago, today announced that Art on theMART, the largest permanent digital art projection in the world, will expand from five nights a week to seven nights a week from May 13 through September 29, 2019. The nightly program will kick off with additional new work that supplements the current spring projections.

The League of Chicago Theatres, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, announces the 2019 Annual Gala, an elegant event that brings together friends of Chicago theatre to raise funds for programs to support Chicagoland's more than 250 member theatre companies. The event will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Palmer House Hilton, 17 E. Monroe St. in Chicago.  Cocktails will begin at 5:30pm with an elegant dinner, entertainment and awards at 6:30pm.

TimeLine Theatre Company is pleased to announce the addition of several new artists and community leaders to its ranks. Chicago artists Tyla Abercrumbie, Will Allan, Wardell Julius Clark, Charles Andrew Gardner, and Anish Jethmalani have been named Company Members at the theater, effective immediately. Additionally, the theater is welcoming JoAnne Dobrick, Anne Voshel, Richard G. Weinberg, and Nicholas Yassan to its Board of Directors, and Jared Bellot as a new Associate Artist.

In a cramped motel room in New Mexico, a "ragtag little group of humans" gathers in anticipation of the funeral of a man they loved but did not like. But the dearly departed is not their only concern, as they grapple with the demands of ordinary life and the decisions of an uncertain future. 

Chicago will continue to produce some of the most exciting theater in the country throughout Fall 2018.  Offerings from the city's more than 250 producing theaters include a range of special fall programming, featuring everything from the latest musicals to highly anticipated world premieres.   

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, begins its 2018-19 season with Curve of Departure, written by Rachel Bonds?and directed by BJ Jones. Curve of Departure runs September 13 - October 21, 2018, 2018?at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is scheduled for Friday September 21, 2018 at 8pm.

Evans, announces its 44th season, opening withCurve of Departure by Rachel Bonds and directed by BJ Jones. The season continues with the World Premiere of Mansfield Park, Kate Hamill's new adaptation of Jane Austen's classic tale of social satire, directed by Stuart Carden; followed by Christina Ham's Nina Simone: Four Women,directed by Kenneth L. Roberson; and the World Premiere of Landladies (previously titled The Janice), written by Sharyn Rothstein and directed by Jess McLeod. Closing out the season is Into the Breeches! by George Brant and directed by Jessica Thebus.
