Northlight Theatre Sets 42nd Season

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces its 42nd season, including three World Premieres and two Midwest Premieres. The season kicks off with the Midwest Premiere of Anthony Giardina's political family drama The City of Conversation, critically acclaimed and currently in development as a miniseries for F/X. The season continues with the World Premiere of the charmingly imagined sequel to Pride and Prejudice, Miss Bennet by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, followed by the World Premiere of Faceless by emerging playwright Selina Fillinger, and the Midwest Premiere of By the Water by Sharyn Rothstein, winner of the prestigious 2015 Primus Prize. Closing out the season is the World Premiere of Relativity by Mark St. Germain, the prolific playwright behind the long-running Freud's Last Session.

Peninsula Players Theatre will present a reading of two one-act plays, 'I Shall Love You Forever' by Kathleen Thompson and 'Waiting for Tina Meyer' by Kristine Thatcher and Larry Shue at Bjorklunden (7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor) at 7p.m., Monday, April 6. On the coldest night of the year, spirits were high at The Call Bar in the Andersonville neighborhood, as the 2014 BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards Celebration was held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Hosted by BroadwayWorld Chicago Regional Editor Paul W. Thompson and The Call's hostess, Ashley Morgan, the Celebration lasted from 8:00 pm to the stroke of midnight, as the winners in 36 categories were revealed.

TimeLine Theatre Company continues its 2014-15 season with a special production featuring two of Tony Award winner Richard Nelson's acclaimed Apple Family Plays: THAT HOPEY CHANGEY THING and SORRY, directed by TimeLine Associate Artist Louis Contey, presented on an alternating schedule January 24 - April 19, 2015 (previews January 13 - 23), at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave., Chicago. Press opening is a 'marathon' double feature of both plays on Sunday, January 25 at 2 p.m. (THAT HOPEY CHANGEY THING) and 6 p.m. (SORRY).
