Latinx creators Anna LaMadrid & Sheila Carrasco's filmed comedic solo plays Presented by IAMA Theatre Company have been extended through April 25.

Anna LaMadrid’s one-person comedy The Oxy Complex explores humanity reaching its breaking point after 500 days with zero human touch.

L.A.’s acclaimed IAMA Theatre Company presents a compelling new solo comedy about female identity by an exciting Latinx-American voice. Filmed live at L.A.’s Pico Playhouse, The Oxy Complex, written and performed by Anna LaMadrid and directed by Michelle Bossy, will premiere virtually on March 21 at www.iamatheatre.com, where it will continue streaming through April 18.

THE OXY COMPLEX, IAMA Theatre Company’s fourth offering of their 2020-21 season of new solo work exploring identity, isolation, race and connection, premieres virtually March 21, 2021. Playwright/performer Anna LaMadrid teams up with director Michelle Bossy, as she performs as the fictional character Viviana she wrote.

Two solo explorations of female identity, written and performed by two funny Latinx-American women, are being presented by IAMA Theatre Company: ANYONE BUT ME, written and performed by Sheila Carrasco, directed by Margaux Susi; and THE OXY COMPLEX, written and performed by Anna LaMadrid, directed by Michelle Bossy. While following strict Covid-19 guidelines, both were filmed live at L.A.’s Pico Playhouse and will premiere virtually on March 21 at www.iamatheatre.com, where each will continue streaming through April 18. Sheila Carrasco, a resident of Santa Monica, just wrapped filming ANYONE BUT ME. As a fellow Westsider, I decided to speak with her about that experience prior to seeing her show.

IAMA Theatre Company has announced a full 2020-21 virtual season of four new, solo works-in-progress and a new works playreading series, beginning Oct. 22 and running through June 10.

On September 24, 2020 at 6:15 PM PST, Melissa will take center stage at The Pico Theater in Los Angeles, CA to perform her original solo show, a?oeMelissa Center is...Marrying Jake Gyllenhaal.a?? The catch? The a?oegrooma?? may or may not show up, and Melissa will be performing to an empty theater.

Dorset Theatre Festival has announced release dates for two new virtual events. A collection of short pieces written by the Festival's Women Artists Writing Group will be available on-demand starting July 31, and an online reading of New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian's play, Wingspan, will stream August 3-9.
